According to recent reports, former President Barrack Obama has warned the Biden administration that Donald Trump will be a formidable opponent in the upcoming election. Sources indicate that Obama has been holding regular calls with White House chief of staff Jeff Zients amid growing concerns that Trump will win the forthcoming election.
Allegedly, the calls with Biden’s top aides pertain to election strategy where insight is passed down from Obama’s team. According to a prominent aide from the Obama administration, the former president has been continually concerned about Trump’s chances at reelection.
Those familiar with the matter have claimed Biden and Obama have spoken frequently, discussing topics “on a range of topics from 2024 to health care.” Furthermore, it is alleged that Joe Biden also meets with former President Bill Clinton and his team on a consistent basis.
Democratic strategists are reportedly relying on Obama to bolster Biden’s favorability among the liberal voting base. However, one anonymous source pointed out that the onus is still on President Biden to carry his campaign forward.
“No one can speak to disillusioned Democrats better than President Obama,” an anonymous senior strategist who has worked closely with Obama and Biden recently explained to CNN. “But there are limits to what Obama can do. The burden to win this race is still on President Biden.”
Former Obama campaign manager Jim Messina, who has worked closely with the Biden campaign’s reelection efforts, explained that Barrack Obama intends to assist the incumbent president as much as he possibly can in the reelection effort.
“President Obama once said to me that every president is a reflection of the previous president, and he’s right,” Messina said. “Trump was the complete opposite of Obama, and Biden is the complete opposite of Trump. Being the president of the United States means you’re part of a small club; there is no other group of people whose red flags about the direct threat of Donald Trump should be taken more seriously.”
As Democrats across the board are increasingly expressing fears about Trump possibly retaking the White House, The American Tribune reported earlier this year about Vice President Kamala Harris admitting she is “scared as heck” about what another Trump presidency would entail.
“I am scared as heck,” Harris stated during an appearance on “The View.” “There is an old saying that there are only two ways to run for office, either without an opponent or scared. So on all of those points, yes, we should all be scared, but as we know, and certainly, this is a table of very powerful women, we don’t run away from something when we’re scared. We fight back against it.”
The vice president then emphasized that the Biden campaign has its work cut out for the upcoming election. “We have to earn the re-elect, and we have to communicate what we have achieved. And that is going to be one of our big challenges. We’ve done a lot of good work, we have to let people know who brung it to them.”
