The wife of Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert recently sounded off on Vice President Kamala Harris over her derogatory comments toward Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ response to Hurricane Helene. In her criticism of the Democratic presidential candidate, Devon Mostert referred to Harris as “textbook trash” over her comments about the hurricane response.
Mostert criticized Kamala Harris through comments on Instagram stories, in which she wrote, “She’s garbage. Textbook trash. No one has time, Kamala — especially not for her to say some bullsh*t like ‘we can be, unburdened by what has been,” referencing the infamous word salad comment that Harris continually touts.
Reportedly, Mostert wrote in another post, “In case you missed it, Kam Kam went on a media rant yesterday about how selfish and utterly responsible DeSantis is. The math ain’t mathing, sis.” She then added, “They’re sinking their own ship,” referencing Harris and Democratic vice presidential candidate and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
Users on social media reacted to the NFL wife’s political commentary. One person wrote on X, “Wow- NFL players and their families are coming out of the woodwork to support TRUMP. Nobody likes Kamala Harris and what she and Biden have done to this country.” Another user wrote, “Nice. The chains seem to be coming off. People dgaf about being shamed for supporting Trump anymore. The libs had their day and it’s over.”
The American Tribune previously covered the controversy surrounding Vice President Harris and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. Speaking to reporters about Gov. DeSantis, Kamala claimed, “You know, moments of crisis, if nothing else, should really be the moment that anyone who calls themselves a leader says they’re going to put politics aside and put the people first. People are in desperate need of support right now.”
Harris added, “And playing political games at this moment in these crisis situations, these are the height of emergency situations, is just utterly irresponsible and it is selfish.” She then added, “And it is about political gamesmanship instead of doing the job that you took an oath to do, which is to put the people first.”
However, President Joe Biden seemingly undermined Harris when he offered praise of DeSantis’ handling of the natural disaster in his state. “The governor of Florida has been cooperative. He said he’s gotten all that he needs. I talked to him again yesterday, and I said – no – you’re doing a great job, it’s all being done well and we thank you for it,” Biden said.
“There was a rough start in some places, but every governor, every governor – from Florida to North Carolina – has been fully cooperative and supportive,” Biden continued. “Before I begin, I want to say we’re prepared for another horrible hurricane to hit Florida. I’ve directed my team to do everything it can to save lives and help the communities before, during, and after this hurricane.”
Continuing, he said, “The most important message today for all those who may be listening to this in the impacted areas is listen to the local authorities, follow safety instruction, including evacuation orders. This is serious. And you got to be safe, because people are dying. People have died so far — not from this hurricane, but from the last one.”
