According to allegations in an ethics complaint filed against Fulton County DA Fani Willis by Atlanta resident Stephen Kramer, DA Willis threatened the wife of her lover and former special prosecutor in the RICO case against Trump and 18 co-defendants, Nathan Wade. Those alleged threats came during Wade’s divorce case, Kramer claims.
As background, Wade dropped out of his role as special prosecutor after Fulton County Judge Scott McAfee ruled that either just Wade or both DA Willis and Mr. Wade would have to drop out of the case over the appearance of impropriety created by their relationship. DA Willis, however, did not drop out, so she is still a target of those who found her alleged conduct objectionable.
Among those who found her activities unethical and so deserving of a bar complaint is an Atlanta resident, Steven M. Kramer. He alleged in the complaint both that DA Willis misspent government funds and that she harrassed and threatened Nathan Wade’s wife during the divorce proceedings between the two.
In the complaint, he alleged, Newsweek reports, “One of the most concerning incidents in this case, in a long line of concerning incidents, is when D.A. Willis used her position to threaten Mr. Wade’s wife, Joycelyn Wade, during their divorce proceedings.” He continued, “D.A. Willis stated in a motion that Ms. Wade was trying to embarrass and harass her, and by extension, interfere and obstruct in the conduct of the [D.A.] election.
Kramer then argued that Ms. Wade was not in the wrong, as DA Willis claimed, but rather acting normally for a wife who had been cheated on. He argued, “Since that time, D.A. Willis admitted to an improper relationship with Mr. Wade, so Ms. Wade had every reason to determine how the marital money was being used before the divorce. This was not an unusual action by a divorcing couple.”
Kramer also claimed that DA Willis was using her position “to threaten her paramour’s estranged wife during her proceeding. D.A. Willis was using the full power of her office to threaten Ms. Wade with criminal prosecution.” Explaining why, Kramer alleged, “This was done to prevent Ms. Wade from adequately fighting for her rights in court; to help Wade in his divorce case and ‘prevent [Willis] from being an integral part of the now-public divorce case.'”
On Thursday, March 14, Mr. Kramer appeared on Newsmax to discuss the complaint and story. He argued, during that appearance, that he was“voraciously reading things” about DA Willis’ alleged misconduct and constantly keeping up with the news surrounding it. Explaining why he did so, he said Willis and Wade’s alleged “exotic trips and cruises” indirectly paid for with taxpayer dollars did not “sit well” with him. “As a taxpayer, my money was going to her boyfriend, and then they were going on trips together,” he said. “Money was going from taxpayers to him [Wade] and then back to Fani Willis,” he continued.
