Kirk Cameron, the actor who became a Christian children’s book author, just tore into Bud Light for its Dylan Mulvaney advertising partnership in an interview on Fox Business, accusing the beer brand of betraying its customers while encouraging Americans to prioritize faith and family.
Beginning, Cameron used his acting experience to explain where Bud Light went wrong, saying, “‘Growing Pains’ and the gospel taught me to never betray your audience.” Then, speaking about his values, Cameron said, “Mine are my family, my country and God.”
Continuing, he said that those who stick to their word and remain committed to a set of values win in the end, telling Fox Business, “Trust breakers lose. Trust keepers win. Every time.” Noting that it can sometimes take a while to win, however, Cameron noted, “You just have to stay around long enough to see the end of the story.”
Cameron also posted a video on the matter on Twitter, captioning it by saying, “Big mistake. You forgot to read the room. This one’s on me, Bud. 😉 @budlight Wake up the woke! Tag the companies you miss the most. @thenorthface @Ford @Nike”

The video itself was a fake commercial Cameron created to show Bud Light what is should have said after having “read the room.” Introducing it, he said, “Hey Bud Light. I know what happened. It’s a rookie mistake. You forgot to read the room. Here’s how you make a commercial that connects with your audience.”
Then, in the commercial, Cameron encouraged parents to work to inculcate their values in their kids, saying, “Moms and dads of America, you love your kids. You love God, you love this country. And you’re tired of watching companies betray your values and ruin great products. Don’t get angry. Invest your time, energy and money into the people that are building the country you want for your kids, and standing for the values that will lead to their blessing and protection.”
Cameron then encouraged people to put their money where their mouths are by investing in companies that agree with them, saying, “Invest in companies like Brave Books. They are on a mission to create content for kids that is safe for them to enjoy. They have kids books that teach about character, hard work, and the value of being brave. If you join their book of the month club, you get a new books sent to your door every month that will teach your kids pro-God, pro-American values.”
He then, in the tongue-in-cheek commercial, promised that Brave Books would never betray its customers’ trust and try to propagandize wokeness to their kids, saying, “Brave Books will not betray your trust your children and your grandchildren will thank you. Remember, the land of the free depends on the homes of the brave.”
Joking at the end after the ad meant to advertise his books while mocking Bud Light for not reading the room, Cameron said, “And this one’s on me, Bud.” But they really should pay him rather than those that came up with the Mulvaney partnership.
