In a shocking accident, the 200-foot yacht “Timeless,” which carried about 350 passengers, struck a pylon while attempting to dock near Riverside Park on the Hudson River, injuring 35 people. According to the authorities, the incident occurred near West 125th Street, with 22 individuals hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries.

For context,  the FDNY and Coast Guard escorted the damaged vessel to a dock for a complete evacuation. The investigation into the cause continues, following several recent cruise ship disasters which have left many worried about safety.

In any case, Zytiin King, who was hosting her 69th birthday party, stated, “Twenty-five years, I’ve been doing a boat ride. Never had this happen.” She said the impact was “hard. You could tell he hit something.” Concluding her reaction, she added, “Overall, we had a great time. God is good, and nobody died.”

Another passenger, Monica Hale, explained, “We were told to go back inside, but of course we don’t listen, and when the boat jerked, somebody said, ‘Brace yourself.’ Everybody went flying down or flying back.”

Describing one woman who was injured in the crash, she said,  “She’s in pain. The impact was so hard that she actually fell on her back and on her knees, so we’re gonna go to the hospital now to make sure she’s OK.”

As we reported, in another incident, dozens of cruise-goers erupted in a brawl that went viral on social media. In the cinematic clip, passengers can be seen fistfighting and throwing luggage as others desperately attempt to escape the chaos.

Footage was posted to Facebook on April 26, 2025. Trelle Ray, who captured the disgraceful brawl, added her commentary in the caption to her post. She laconically said, “It went down this morning ‼️ #CarnivalJubilee #carnivalcruise”

According to a Carnival Cruise spokesperson, “The incident occurred in the debarkation area under the authority of U.S. Customs and Border Patrol.” Their statement continued, “The matter was turned over to law enforcement. We will not tolerate such behavior, and 24 people have been placed on our Do Not Sail list.”

Reacting to the incident on X, users blasted the passengers for their shockingly bad behavior. One comment noted, “Imagine saving up for your dream cruise and then walking in to the terminal and seeing this.” One of the respondents joked, “Funny, Carnival is on my “do not sail” list.”

Offering their personal cruising experience, one user noted a decline in the quality of passengers. The reply read, “We have cruised extensively. By far, our family’s only negative experience was on the Carnival line—the crowds were very young, rowdy, and seemed to travel in very large groups of frenemies. Add alcohol + closed quarters, and everyone’s experience is ruined.”

Rounding out the comments, many social media users said that Carnival Cruises brought this behavior on themselves by catering to low-income customers. One of the many replies noted, “Carnival is known as the party cruise. I’ve been on many cruises, but I refuse to go on Carnival.” Another replied in a similar vein, saying, “I went on one carnival cruise in my life. I will never go again. Low-cost cruise equals low-cost people.”
