“My Wife is Way Out of Your League”: Vance Defends His Wife by Trouncing Mark Cuban

Speaking during a rally in Portage, Michigan, a key swing state that it looks like the Trump-Vance ticket has a reasonably good chance of winning, United States Senator from Ohio and 2024 Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance hammered Mark Cuban over comments Cuban made about Republican women, saying, “My wife is way out of your league.”

Mark Cuban, for reference, appeared for an interview on ABC’s “The View” and seemingly insulted all the women around Trump, such as Melania Trump and the wives of Trump’s political associates, such as Usha Vance. He said, “Donald Trump, you never see him around strong, intelligent women. Ever.” Cuban added, “It’s just that simple. They’re intimidating to him. He doesn’t like to be challenged by them, and, you know, Nikki Haley will call him on his nonsense with reproductive rights and how he sees and treats and talks about women. I mean, he just can’t have her around. It wouldn’t work.”

Vance has fired back, both speaking to Breitbart News and in the Michigan rally. Speaking to Breitbart, Vance said, in part, Doing so, he said, “Well, first of all, it’s insulting my wife, who’s a very strong and very intelligent woman and goes to nearly every one of my campaign events with me. And it’s insulting to Lara Trump, who’s done an incredible job as co chair of the RNC. It’s insulting to Melania [Trump], who has the number one New York Times best selling book right now.”

Then, speaking in the Portage, Michigan, rally, the senator again commented on the remarks that Mark Cuban made when he appeared on “The View” and went after him for them. Particularly, Sen. Vance said he was thrilled to have Usha, his “beautiful and smart and accomplished wife,” with him.

Speaking on that, Senator Vance told the large crowd, “I’m maybe especially grateful to have her today, because I don’t know if you saw that Kamala Harris surrogate Mark Cuban said that the Trump campaign doesn’t surround itself with smart and accomplished women.”

He continued, “And I thought to myself, ‘well Mark, my wife is way out of your league.’” Building on that and further rebuking Cuban, the senator also spoke about Melania Trump, saying, “So is Melania Trump by the way, so is Susie Wiles, who is running the Trump campaign.” Watch him here:

This isn’t the senator’s first time defending his wife from such attacks. During an interview with ABC’s Jonathan Karl, Karl asked him, “So, there’s been a lot of talk about racism and whatnot. You faced some really nasty stuff. I saw this thing that Nick Fuentes – of course, he’s an avowed white supremacist – he said, ‘What kind of a man marries somebody named Usha? Clearly, he doesn’t value his racial identity, his heritage.’ I mean this is racist garbage.”Vance, responding, said, “Yes, it is.” Karl then added, “But this is also a guy that dined with Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago during this campaign.”

Vance told him, defending Trump, “Well, and Donald Trump doesn’t know anything about and frankly doesn’t care for. But, yes, look, my – my attitude to these people attacking my wife is—she’s beautiful, she’s smart. What kind of man marries Usha? A very smart man and a very lucky man, importantly.”

Continuing, the senator used the line he also trotted out during the Michigan rally, telling Karl and his wife’s attackers, “And – and my view is, look, if these guys want to attack me or attack my views, my policy views, my personality, come after me, but don’t attack my wife. She’s out of your league.”
