Why did Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg and a Grand Jury not indict and arrest former President Donald Trump this week? It’s unclear, but the reason likely is that it turns out DA Bragg was withholding exculpatory evidence showing that Trump did not pay stormy Daniels with campaign funds, but rather that Michael Cohen did so with his own cash and was not reimbursed by the Trump Campaign.
Trump joined numerous other conservatives in posting a picture of the damning letter showing what Cohen had done, adding the comment, “Wow, look what was just found—A Letter from Cohen’s Lawyer to the Federal Election Commission. This is totally exculpatory, and must end the Manhattan District Attorney’s Witch Hunt, immediately. Cohen admits that he did it himself. The D.A. should get on with prosecuting violent criminals, so people can walk down the sidewalks of New York without being murdered!”
And so now Republicans are even more furious with him, with Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene calling for Bragg’s arrest on Twitter, saying:
Now it’s time to arrest Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg for prosecutorial misconduct after hiding hundreds of pages of exculpatory evidence!
Bragg is on the verge of indicting an innocent former President and top Presidential candidate against the opposing ruling party.
Bragg is breaking the law and trying to incite civil unrest with his Soros funded political war.
Hold him accountable!
In doing so, MTG joined Sen. Rand Paul, who said, “A Trump indictment would be a disgusting abuse of power. The DA should be put in jail.”
Trump also went on the attack against Bragg in a post on Truth Social, saying, “What kind of person can charge another person, in this case a former President of the United States, who got more votes than any sitting President in history, and leading candidate (by far!) for the Republican Party nomination, with a Crime, when it is known by all that NO Crime has been committed, & also known that potential death & destruction in such a false charge could be catastrophic for our Country? Why & who would do such a thing? Only a degenerate psychopath that truely hates the USA!”
Trump also attacked his enemies as “human scum,” saying, “Isn’t it terrible that D.A. Bragg refuses to do the right thing and “call it a day?” He would rather indict an innocent man and create years of hatred, chaos, and turmoil, than give him his well deserved “freedom.” The whole Country sees what is going on, and they’re not going to take it anymore. They’ve had enough! There was no Error made, No Misdemeanor, No Crime and, above all, NO CASE. They spied on my campaign, Rigged the Election, falsely Impeached, cheated and lied. They are HUMAN SCUM!”
That came shortly after he declared the DA had no case, saying, “Total disarray in the Manhattan D.A.’s Office. Tremendous dissension and chaos because they have NO CASE, and many of the honest people in the Office know it, and want to do the right thing. They think back to the Late, Great, Bob Morgenthau, the best ever, and know what he would have done. JUSTICE FOR ALL!“
