Movie Star Opens Up on Ditching California for Red State, Massive Importance of Prayer

Kellan Lutz, star of the hit “Twilight” series, spoke about his decision to move his family away from Los Angeles, California, and take them to the greener pastures of Nashville, Tennessee. Luts is following suit of many other premier stars who have picked up their bags and left Hollywood to live in a red state in recent years.

Lutz also offered his tips for a healthy and long-lasting marriage as he was celebrating the move with his wife of 6 years and his two young children. The interview, which took place with Fox News Digital, opened an interesting window into the life of the Lutz family and their decision to escape Los Angeles.

Kellan noted that the move became possible in recent years when the movie industry began making it possible for actors to simply fly to the movie set to film and then leave immediately after. Before, it would have been impossible to have his career while living anywhere other than Hollywood.

He explained, “the way the industry is right now, currently I can work and live wherever and then just fly to do movies. And at least my wife has a support system here when I’m gone.” This ability paved the way for a move to a state where his wife would find more support while he was working on set.

As Lutz explained, his wife has family nearby in Nashville, which provides a few really good bonuses for the family. First, his wife is not tasked with raising the children on her own when Kellan leaves for work. Second, Kellan loves that his children are being raised around more family members in Nashville, the same way that he grew up.

He reminisced, “I remember growing up, my family had a farm in Iowa, and I saw my grandparents, and it was the best time. We spent a month or so on the farm. Cows, pigs, everything. But it’s fleeting. People aren’t living as long. You only have so much time with your grandparents. And we live a mile from my wife’s parents, and so we walk there. It’s just beautiful.”

Kellan also talked about various ways that he has been able to have a healthy marriage with his wife since 2017. He started by saying that communication is key. Kellan explained, “Communication, big time honesty and willingness to just work through it all… You also have to just check in with each other and just be grateful and also say like, ‘Hey, I need this in this season, or I need that, or what do you need?'”

He also explained that by doing it together, they are able to be a far greater force than if they had tried to go through life on their own. “We’re a team. We’re on the same team. We just want to get the ball into the goal together. I’m weak sometimes. She’s weak sometimes, and [together] we can be strong.” Kellan concluded, “I love being married. I’ve always wanted to be married, always wanted to have family.”
