Fox News Host Pete Hegseth spoke about his Faith and the role that it plays in his day-to-day life. Hegseth also opened up about how important his family is to keeping him motivated and continuing to work hard as a member of the Fox New Channel. Hegseth has been a member of the Fox News Channel since 2014 and currently serves as a co-host for the “Fox and Friends Weekend.” Before Fox News, Hegseth was an infantryman in the National Guard. He reached the rank of Captain, serving in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Guantanamo Bay.
Fox News’ Dana Perino was asking the questions. Things got interesting when he said, “What role do you believe education plays in shaping a person’s life?” Hegseth replied, “It’s the third most important, but life changing. The most important is faith in Jesus Christ. Nothing else compares to a relationship with our Creator. The second most important is your family. Fathers and mothers are the single largest earthly influence on their kids. After that, it’s education. And, as I wrote about in “Battle for the American Mind,” that’s a sphere we have been losing ground in for over 100 years.”
When popular people like Hegseth use their platform to help people come closer to Jesus Christ, it truly is an example of being a good steward of fame. He has managed to keep in perspective the important role of the Christian Faith in shaping America and returning this country to its place atop to the world stage yet again.
Even when faced with a question about the importance of education, Hegseth immediately knew that it cannot raise a child that adds value to a community without the help of a strong foundation in Faith. Also, he was quick to talk about the importance of parenting.
Parents have a unique example to improve their community by helping their children understand what it means to be useful members of a society and setting an example of how to be a good person. While it sometimes isn’t easy, a two-parent household with both parents being active in their kid’s life can be the difference between disaster and success.
Hegseth spoke about the changes that we are likely to see in the education system in the next decade, saying, “There will be a split. Democrats will keep funding failing schools with declining standards and trap millions of kids in mediocrity and social indoctrination. That will, sadly, continue. However, after COVID and with all the nonsense being exposed in schools, more and more families will choose real education for their kids. Homeschooling, classical Christian schooling, other forms of traditional schooling will grow rapidly as well. “
It would make a lot of sense for parents to begin having a healthy distrust of the public education system, given the terrible test scores following the COVID shutdowns and school closures.
Thanks to Hegseth, we had another reason to highlight the importance of Faith in American society.
