M&M Goes Woke, Introduces Purple Candy To Push “Acceptance And Inclusivity” Through Song And Dance

Mars, Incorporated joined the long list of companies who have decided to go woke in an effort to appease social justice warriors. The only thing left to see is if by their going woke they subsequently go broke.

One of the conglomerate’s iconic brands which boasts of chocolate melting in mouths rather than hands introduced the latest addition to their M&M’s line with the unveiling of the Purple chocolate-coated candy. The purple color is in reference to “acceptance and inclusivity.” Apparently staples like yellow and blue scream intolerance. Who knew we were bigots by consuming Christmas-themed red and greens so haphazardly?

Jane Hwang, who is a woke cog in the ever-churning corporate machine, serves as the global vice president at Mars Wrigley, and proudly boasted of the “first female peanut spokescandy” that will deliver a message of inclusion through various artistic performances such as music, song, and performance. Yikes.

“Mars is thrilled to debut the newest member of the M&M’s cast of characters to the world,” she said. “There is so much about our new spokescandy that people can relate to and appreciate, including her willingness to embrace her true self — our new character reminds us to celebrate what makes us unique.”

Kidadle noted that once upon a time purple actually was a color in the standard rotation. When M&M’s were first introduced in 1941 the site writes: “In 1941, when Forrest E. Mars Sr. created the M&M we know today, the candies came in only five colors and only one flavor. They launched M&M’s chocolate candies in a plain chocolate flavor coming in red, purple, green, brown, and yellow.”

It goes without saying that the color purple was merely used as a contrast to other colors and was not attached to social justice warrior nonsense. In 1949, the purple was replaced by tan, but again, should be noted it was not because the Mars candy company was interested in eschewing acceptance, tolerance, and inclusion. It simply replaced the color and moved on. Tan was later replaced by blue in 1995.

Breitbart reported on the latest woke agenda push by the kid-friendly and kid-approved milk chocolate treat:

The new candy is part of a push by Mars to make the animated candy characters “more inclusive,” in one case by dumping its green “sexy girl” character and giving her replacement a “more nuanced personality.”

As Breitbart News reported in January, the candy company said it intended to better honor its “global commitment to creating a world where everyone feels they belong, and society is inclusive” with the changes to its advertising characters for a “more dynamic, progressive world.”

In a tweet at the time, Mars even hinted the two female M&M’s are intimate.

Mars added the makeovers – past, present and future – will include an “updated tone of voice” to make people feel “inclusive, welcoming, and unifying” while hewing to its past penchant toward “wit and humor.”

Nothing about that description sounds normal. Sexy M&M are two words that should never have been uttered in the same sentence. Worse yet, the idea that our delicious candies have a sexual orientation should disturb anyone with a functioning brain stem.

So there it is. M&M’s are doubling down on wokeness. The only thing left is to bring down their bottom line and watch them go broke.
