During the presidential debate with Vice President Kamala Harris, former President Donald Trump was berated with fact-checks over his comments. However, subsequent research following the debate has proven that the Republican presidential candidate was actually speaking the truth, particularly with a comment he made calling out Harris for endorsing transgender surgeries for illegal alien prisoners.
As he spoke last Tuesday night, Trump claimed, “She did things that nobody would ever think of. Now she wants to do transgender operations on illegal aliens that are in prison. This is a radical left liberal that would do this.” Following this remark, a slew of mainstream media outlets criticized Trump, asserting the claim was false.
For example, Time Magazine accused Trump of “falsely” claiming that Harris “wants to do transgender operations on illegal aliens.” Similarly, BET News’ Marc Lamont Hill labeled the claim “the WILDEST thing I’ve ever heard in any debate. EVER.” Furthermore, New Yorker journalist Susan Glasser said that Trump’s “line about how the Vice-President ‘wants to do transgender operations on illegal aliens that are in prison’ was pretty memorable, too.” She added, “What the hell was he talking about? No one knows, which was, of course, exactly Harris’s point.”
However, much to the dismay of the liberal media, CNN reporter Andrew Kaczynski confirmed that Kamala Harris had endorsed “taxpayer-funded gender transition surgeries” for detained illegal aliens and federal prisoners when responding to a questionnaire sent to her by the American Civil Liberties Union.
According to Kaczynski’s report, “Harris was asked if, as president, she would use “executive authority to ensure that transgender and non-binary people who rely on the state for medical care – including those in prison and immigration detention – will have access to comprehensive treatment associated with gender transition, including all necessary surgical care.” Harris replied, “Yes.””
“It is important that transgender individuals who rely on the state for care receive the treatment they need, which includes access to treatment associated with gender transition,” Harris claimed. “That’s why, as Attorney General, I pushed the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation to provide gender transition surgery to state inmates,” she continued. Harris maintained that she sought to provide “surgical care” for gender transitions.
The American Tribune reported on other contested comments from former President Trump during the debate, such as when he claimed that Haitian migrants were eating cats and dogs in Springfield, Ohio, leading moderator David Muir to claim city officials have no evidence to support such claims. However, JD Vance defended the claims, arguing that his constituents have observed this firsthand.
Vance said, “The city manager said there’s no verifiable evidence. A lot of residents on the ground have said that there is. That just means the city manager, I think, isn’t fully in touch with what’s going on the ground there. I’ve heard from many of my own constituents who’ve seen these things with their own eyes, who’ve seen these abductions with their own eyes, who’ve seen geese being taken out of local parts and slaughtered in front of their eyes.”
