Things got crazy in San Antonio, Texas, on Sunday, November 16, with a joint raid between federal authorities and the Texas Department of Public Safety targeting a sex and human trafficking operation run by Tren de Aragua (TdA). The raid resulted in the arrest of 140 illegal aliens and the creation of a Homeland Security Task Force to combat transnational criminal organizations like TdA.
Such is what the FBI’s San Antonio office revealed in a press release on Monday, November 17, revealing the fact that such a Homeland Security Task Force has been created and that it would be targeting gangs like TdA as a way of protecting Americans from a litany of awful crimes.
Beginning, the press release described the task force that has been created, saying, “The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) San Antonio Field Office and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) San Antonio Field Office announced the establishment of a regional Homeland Security Task Force (HSTF-South Texas). The HSTF will combat transnational criminal organizations engaged in sophisticated criminal schemes, involving federal violations, both within the United States and beyond our borders.”
Continuing, it explained the general sorts of crimes that the task force is targeting, saying, “HSTF-South Texas is leading efforts to target sophisticated cartels, foreign terrorist organizations, and transnational gangs whose list of crimes include homicide, kidnapping, human trafficking, extortion, smuggling drugs across our borders, and money laundering.”
That’s when the recent raid targeting TdA came up, with the press release noting that the Sunday raid in San Antonio took down a huge number of gangsters. It said, “Disrupting Tren de Aragua (TdA) criminal presence in San Antonio, Texas, on November 16, 2025, which also resulted in the arrest of over 140 illegal aliens from Venezuela, Honduras, Mexico, and other South American countries, who were taken into ICE custody.”
Further, the statement added that the Texan authorities were instrumental in targeting TdA in that operation, saying, “This operation would not have been possible without the support of the Texas Department of Public Safety, whose work on the underlying state case led to the search warrant executed during the operation.”
The statement went on to give examples of the sort of thing that the task force is working on. In one example, it said, “On October 28, 2025, there was a superseding indictment for money laundering charges against a father and son who were allegedly providing material support to a Mexican cartel that had been named as a foreign terrorist organization.”

Further, it added that the father-son duo were involved in a huge amount of fraud, saying, “Included in the indictment is a notice of criminal forfeiture in which the government seeks forfeiture of approximately 77,000 barrels of crude oil, $2.5 million in funds, and a $300 million money judgement.”
And, giving yet another example, it explained, “On October 23, 2025, the interception of 534 firearms as well as 31,482 rounds of ammunition, 525 magazines, 40 scopes, four lasers, 10 rifle slings and other related items from the Laredo area before they were to be trafficked into Mexico. Both men were charged with smuggling firearms, ammunition, magazines, and other firearms accessories, as well as trafficking of firearms.”
