Mamdani Gets Totally Torched and Humiliated by Star Mets Pticher

Former New York Mets superstar Noah Syndergaard put both his former team and the political leadership of New York City on blast, saying the state of chaos surrounding the Mets is reflective of the broader issues within the Big Apple. The former All-Star pitcher made a recent appearance on OutKick’s “Tomi Lahren Is Fearless” program where he shredded New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani while chatting about the Mets disappointing season.

“It’s kind of also ironic,” Syndergaard told Lahren. “Those two guys are some of the biggest conservatives I’ve played for as well as with, with Jacob deGrom. The craziness that’s going on in New York.” Syndergaard was referring to Mets players Pete Alonso and Brandon Nimmo while reflecting on the current condition of the franchise.

Syndergaard, who was nicknamed “Thor” during his years on the mound with the Mets, debuted with the team in 2015 and helped usher the organization to a National League pennant and World Series appearance in the same year. Despite criticizing New York City leadership, the star pitcher admitted that there’s still something special about playing the sport in New York.

“But I mean, if I still played for the Mets or the Yankees, I’d be like, oh, this is freaking awesome,” he explained, according to Trending Politics News. “Like I could block the crazy part out and still focus on, I get to play a kid’s game in one of the greatest cities in the world. Albeit, ran by a lunatic or, I don’t know. He’s 34 years old … like I’m 33 and I can’t imagine being a mayor.”

Later, Syndergaard took another shot at Mamdani, questioning whether he truly possessed the level of experience necessary to discharge the duties of the mayoral office. “Well, he’s like 34 years old and never really held an actual job beforehand,” he said during the interview. After his time with the Mets came to an end, Syndergaard pitched for several teams including the Los Angeles Angels, Philadelphia Phillies, Los Angeles Dodgers, and the Cleveland Guardians.

Over the course of the last several months, the former pitcher has become increasingly outspoken about political matters. Earlier in May, Syndergaard heaped praise on President Donald Trump after attending a White House event celebrating the return of the presidential fitness test. During a different interview with Fox News, Syndergaard said he didn’t understand all the hate the president receives.

“I really just don’t quite understand the negativity or the pessimism he gets from the media and some of the population of this nation because he’s just such a patriotic guy,” Syndergaard said. During his conversation with Tomi Lahren, the ace pitcher took an opportunity to get his true feelings about the current condition of the Mets off his chest, saying the team’s large payroll has failed to produce success.

“Stop hanging out with socialist mayors, I guess, probably,” he told Lahren. “I hate saying it, but at the end of the day, the Mets are going to Met. I think I’m allowed to kind of say that because I bled orange and blue for eight years. Made it to the World Series with them. Just kind of disappointed to see A) who they’re inviting into their clubhouse and B) the lack of success they’re having. It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. We have a huge payroll, and it’s not creating great dividends for them.”
