Major Gavin Newsom Donor Now Under Federal Investigation for Illegal Immigration, Child Labor Law Violations

In the wake of a dramatic immigration raid on a California cannabis farm, federal authorities have launched a child labour investigation into the president and board director, Graham Farrar. Adding to the scandal, FEC filings indicate that Farrar has given thousands of dollars to California Democrats, including $10,000 to Governor Gavin Newsom.

For context, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raided Glass House Farms in Southern California on July 10, 2025. In addition to arresting 200 suspected illegal immigrants, the authorities found 10 children working on the farm, many of them unaccompanied.

In any case, the official social media account for Glass House Farms summarized their version of events in a post to social media. The farm stated, “Yesterday, Glass House Brands received immigration and naturalization warrants. As per the law, we verified that the warrants were valid and we complied. Workers were detained and we are assisting to provide them legal representation.”

Concluding their statement, the company added, “Glass House has never knowingly violated applicable hiring practices and does not and has never employed minors. We do not expect this to affect operations moving forward. We will provide additional details when applicable.”

Echoing these comments, Glass House owner Graham Farrar stated, “Know there are lots of questions, we have a lot of them too, as we get more information we will update. Our team has been continually on site and we are focused on taking care of our people and our plants.”

Reacting to the raid and announcing the investigation into Farrar, U.S. Customs and Border Protection Comissioner Rodeny Scott, made a series of posts to X. He began by blasting the leadership of California, saying, “Here’s some breaking news: 10 juveniles were found at this marijuana facility – all illegal aliens, 8 of them unaccompanied. It’s now under investigation for child labor violations. This is Newsom’s California.”

Continuing his explanation in another post, the CBP commissioner added, “These are the juveniles found in the marijuana facility – almost all unaccompanied, one as young as 14. California are you ready to partner with us to stop child exploitation?”

Rounding out his comments, Scott showed off a mugshot of one of the illegals arrested and explained how dangerous the man was to the children working alongside him. He declared, “This illegal alien was apprehended at the CA marijuana facility. Turns out he had been sentenced to 7 yrs for kidnapping & attempted r*pe, w/ a prior conviction for attempted child molestation. And this felon was working at the same farm as 10 kids – one being 14 yrs old.”

Offering another take on the situation, Congressman Tom Emmer (R-MN) took to social media to blast cynical Democrats using this ICE raid to score political points. He posted, “@ICEgov officers rescued 8 unaccompanied migrant children from potential exploitation, yet Gavin Newsom and Tim Walz continue to demonize these brave men and women. These governors don’t care about justice or safety, they care about their political agenda—whatever it costs.”

However, some Democrats, including Luis McArthur, the mayor of Oxnard, whined about the read. He said, “It is becoming increasingly apparent that the actions taken by ICE are bold and aggressive, demonstrating insensitivity towards the direct impact on our community.”
