Republican United States Senator from Louisiana Bill Cassidy, known primarily for being an utterly useless RINO who voted to convict and thus impeach President Donald Trump, is whining about the GOP not pouring enough money into his re-election campaign against much more MAGA-friendly GOP competitors in the state’s primary election race for his seat. That primary election will be held on May 16.
Apparently, the turncoat of a RINO is under the delusion that the constellation of Republican Party organizations dedicated to funding important races should fully back and support his primary race and help him maintain his seat despite the fact that he betrayed President Trump, and thus his voters and the GOP generally.
Such is what was revealed on Friday, April 10, by Punchbowl News. According to that outlet, the sitting senator is furious that the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) is not, in his view, sufficiently funding his re-election bid. In reality, it has already spent a few million in much-needed campaign cash on him, cash the MAGA constituency of the party would much prefer for it to have not spent.
In any case, Sen. Cassidy, who is having to face off against both Louisiana Rep. Julia Letlow and Louisiana Treasurer John Fleming in the slugging match of a primary, reportedly went absolutely ballistic about the funding situation in a phone call with the NRSC. Adding to the chaos of the situation is that Fleming has refused to drop out despite Letlow getting the Trump endorsement in this race, which has muddied the water and given Cassidy a chance of continuing to win.
But Cassidy is still doing poorly, and so is demanding more cash from the NRSC in a desperate attempt to try and somehow pull out a primary victory. Such is what Punchbowl News reported, saying that Sen. Cassidy had a very tense call with the NRSC in which he tried to berate it for not helping push him over the victory line in the primary.
It didn’t end there. NRSC Executive Director Jennifer DeCasper reportedly wasn’t having it, and went ballistic on the RINO senator, allegedly snapping at him in a profanity-filled response that obliterated him for having voted to convict President Trump, a move that left MAGA and the GOP generally infuriated.
