Texas Governor Greg Abbott is at it again, this time dropping off yet more migrants outside the Naval Observatory, the Washington, DC home of Vice President Kamala Harris. The busloads of migrants arrived outside Kamala’s home on Thursday morning, with Governor Abbott saying that all of the migrants had voluntarily signed up for the trip.
Fox 5, adding context to the dropping off of migrants outside the Naval Observatory, reported that the Texas Governor sent numerous buses carrying about 150 migrants in all to the Naval Observatory in September, then sent another 6 dozen or so in October. Those migrants joined the more than 8000 that Texas had bused to the nation’s capital since the busing program began, and were from a wide variety of countries including Colombia, Cuba, Guyana, Nicaragua, Panama, and Venezuela.
And that’s not all. While Abbott is getting close to having shipped 10,000 migrants to the nation’s capital, he’s sent thousands to other locals as well. For example, he’s sent nearly 4,000 (3,800ish) migrants to New York City since early August and has also sent about 1,200 to Chicago. Additionally, he started sending buses of illegals to Philadelphia.
Speaking about the decision to expand the operation to Philadelphia, PA, Abbott said, in a statement: “Since April, Texas’ busing strategy has successfully provided much-needed relief to our border communities overwhelmed by the historic influx of migrants caused by President Biden’s reckless open border policies. Until the Biden Administration does its job and provides Texans and the American people with sustainable border security, Texas will continue doing more than any other state in the nation’s history to defend against an invasion along the border, including adding more sanctuary cities like Philadelphia as drop-off locations for our busing strategy.”
Rubbing salt in the wound, Governor Abbott’s statement added, “Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney has long-celebrated and fought for sanctuary city status, making the city an ideal addition to Texas’ list of drop-off locations.”
Kenney, in response, tried to toe the line of maintaining the “diversity is our strength” position that Democrats have become fervently attached to, saying, “As a proud welcoming city, we will greet our newly arrived neighbors with dignity and respect. Philadelphians know that diversity is our strength, and we want to acknowledge the generosity and compassion we have already seen from residents and community partners since we were alerted to a possible bus arriving in Philadelphia.”
The Philadelphia Mayor’s statement continued, “It is possible for government and local communities to work together to strengthen systems of support for newcomers and that has always been this administration’s vision and commitment.”
However, while the private security-protected mayor might be happy with all the added diversity, one suspects that the average Philadelphia resident would rather not have more illegal immigrants and all the crime and drugs they bring with them pouring into what was once one of America’s greatest cities.
