In a viral social media post, Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN) announced on Nov. 25, 2025, that the House Homeland Security and Judiciary Committees are probing Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell for obstructing ICE, harboring illegal immigrants, and misusing taxpayer funds. Ogles blamed Nashville’s “sanctuary” policies for these abuses.
When the clip was posted to social media, users were enthusiastic in their support for Ogles and equally loud about their condemnations of O’Connell. Many comments drew attention to the crime wave raging across the city and tied it to illegal immigration.
In any case, Ogles began his comments by blasting the embattled mayor. “Well, you’ve heard it.
The individuals that the mayor is standing with are murderers, rapists, drug traffickers, sexual predators, child traffickers, the list goes on, which is why I will always stand on the rule of law and with ICE,” Ogles declared.
Still not done, the member of Congress continued to hammer away at the woke mayor. He noted, “I don’t just stand with ICE. I’ll stand in front of ICE because we, the people, have had enough. I choose my community, my state and my family over this type of nonsense, which is why, due to the remarks of Freddie O’Connell and the potential for aiding and embedding illegal immigration, the Homeland Security and the judiciary committees will be conducting an investigation into the Mayor of Nashville.”
Concluding his epic takedown of the far-left mayor, Rep. Ogles noted, “His conduct and whether or not federal dollars have been used in criminal enterprise, I will not back down. I will not relent, and I will always stand with law enforcement. I want my community, and I want my country back.”
Adding context to the scandal, Tricia McLaughlin exposed the Nashville Mayor’s shady actions. “Looks like Mayor O’Connell was involved in some sort of obstruction or the harboring of criminal illegal aliens in the great city of Nashville, but also, just last night, his office put out the names of Homeland Security investigators and doxed our ICE enforcement officers,” she said.
Continuing her expose, she noted, “They claimed it was a mistake. There’s zero chance it was a mistake, and there will be repercussions. Our ICE enforcement officers are already facing a 400% increase in assaults against them, and he’s essentially handing over intelligence to these criminal gangs so that they can target our ICE enforcement officers. It’s wrong, and it’s beneath the city of Nashville, and I hope he will face consequences.”

Similarly annoyed, another commentator said, “Another liberal mayor, this time in Nashville, may be in favor of protecting illegal aliens. There’s plenty more dubious mayors all over the country. Americans need to draw a line in the sand and declare NO MORE.”

Reacting to the initial clip of Ogles, conservatives praised his’ strong rhetoric. “Mayor of Nashville Freddie O’Connell is under investigation for aiding and abetting illegal aliens. Lock him up. I voted for it,” a popular post read.
In the comments under this clip, many users echoed the same sentiments. Explaining the current situation, one commentator declared, “Either the justice system fulfills its obligation to ensure that the Constitution is respected by everyone without exception, or America will be destroyed by the Marxists. Fact!”
