This clip is funny for so many reasons. First, on one level it reveals how scared people are of being wrong in today’s hyper-woke and judgemental culture on matters of race and sex.
Second, and more importantly, it gives us another classic Don Lemon meltdown because race and sex are involved and he cannot fathom people aren’t as woke and virtuous as him.
For context, Jeopardy throws up a softball question on Biden’s “history-making” affirmative action hire Ketanji Brown Jackson for the Supreme Court. The three contestants just stand there and wait for the not-Alex Trebek to give them the answer.
So that’s amazing. My guess about what happened is that these people would rather not say anything and get her hyphenated name wrong, or mispronounce it, than get the $1200 for answering the clue correctly. If I had to wager all my money on a Daily Double, that’s what I’d say.
But Don Lemon doesn’t see it that way. Instead, he lashes out at three (probably) very nice people who are terrified of getting this one wrong. Safer to stay quiet and survive another day than go viral for all the wrong reasons. Just watch as this clip becomes an instant classic:

The demoted Lemon just can’t handle this at all. He not only leans over, audibly gasps with a half-laugh, but he removes his spectacles to share a bewildered stare with his co-hosts. He is just so…unlikeable.
Lemon simply can’t fathom people – smart people, no less, as he says – don’t know a history making judge when they see one!
“These are smart people, though,” Lemon perturbedly exasperates. “When you want to Jeopardy…I think Caitlin’s right if you’re standing outside of a mall or whatever people may not know when they do the man-on-the-street thing, yes. But when you’re smart enough to be a contestant on Jeopardy” –
“You gotta know about current events,” interjects a host.
“Yeah,” Lemon says.”
“And history making ones,” chimed in another host.
“Yeah, yeah,” Lemon bemoans.
The takeaway here is that Don Lemon is a much better person than these contestants. After all, he knew the answer was Ketanji Brown Jackson. Or is it Jackson Brown? Doesn’t matter.
Amazingly, but not surprisingly, CNN continued with its horrific push of racist reporting. Segueing from their disbelief that smart people don’t know the first black female justice, which is a slap in the face to all deserving people for being such a blatant diversity hire (not to mention a disservice to Brown Jackson/Jackson Brown herself for sitting on the Court when she’s not at all qualified for it), Lemon went right to the issue of Michelle Obama boldly proclaiming that America wasn’t ready for her natural black hair.
I dislike the Obamas for a lot of reasons; Michelle’s hair doesn’t even crack the Top 1,000. But here was CNN trying to tell me otherwise.
“Okay, so listen,” Lemon said, introducing the next obnoxious topic. “There’s a lot of talk around this one as well. The former First Lady Michelle Obama revealed that she considered wearing her natural hair…”
The New York Post reported on this insane story, which somehow shows we’re an irredeemably racist country for twice voting for a black first family and awarding this nothing-person with a $70 million net worth.
Former First Lady Michelle Obama is opening up about the pressures of playing it straight.
The mother of two, 58, revealed how she felt Americans “weren’t ready” for her natural hair as they were still “getting adjusted” to having a black first family in the White House.
She made made the revelation during an onstage chat with interviewer Ellen DeGeneres in Washington, DC, earlier this week, the Independent reported.
She noted how she kept her mane straight as can be while living in la Casa Blanca.
