South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham, though far more of a neocon than much of the Trump base would prefer, has, admittedly, remained a vocal ally of the former president. Sen. Graham came out (verbally) swinging for Trump again during an appearance on “Hannity” on Wednesday, August 2nd, saying that the DOJ’s “night and day” difference in treatment of Trump and Hunter shows what the regime is really about.
Beginning, Graham described the kid gloves treatment that Hunter got, saying that the plea deal the DOJ gave him before a Trump-appointed judge struck it down is a deal that no one else would have gotten for any of the charges he faces, much less all of them.
“It’s night and day. So Hunter Biden gets a plea deal that nobody in your audience would get. Millions of dollars of unpaid taxes, he’s not going to jail, illegal possession of a gun, he gets a diversion opportunity never to go to jail. Hidden in the plea deal is a promise never to prosecute based on all the financial dealings you’ve been talking about,” Sen. Graham said.
Then he got to Trump and how the DOJ has treated Trump very unfairly from the start. There was the dossier that was made up, the constant attempts to destroy him, the lies about him and his conduct, all of it designed to tear him down and stop him from draining the Swamp.
Sen. Graham said, “When it comes to Donald Trump, they make up lies. They push to a court, a dossier that’s absolutely Russian disinformation. They manipulate the stream of evidence, and nothing happens. So if you’re sitting at home and you’re mad, you have a right to be mad. When it comes to Donald Trump, there are no rules. Destroy him, destroy his family. When it comes to Hunter Biden and Joe Biden, they get away with almost everything. If you want to change that, we better win in 2024.”
Sen. Graham had said in June that if Trump were indicted over January 6th, which is what happened here, that would be a “major outrage.” He said: “If the special counsel indicts President Trump in Washington, DC for anything related to January 6th, that will be considered a major outrage by Republicans because you could convict any Republican of anything in Washington DC.”

Trump has ripped and ridiculed the DOJ’s hypocrisy as well, saying, on Truth Social, “Biden and his family steal Millions and Millions of Dollars, including BRIBES from foreign countries, and I’m headed to D.C. to be ARRESTED for protesting a CROOKED ELECTION. UNFAIR VENUE, UNFAIR JUDGE. We are a Nation in Decline. MAGA!!!”
Trump also said, “Look, it’s not my fault that my political opponent in the Democrat Party, Crooked Joe Biden, has told his Attorney General to charge the leading (by far!) Republican Nominee & former President of the United States, me, with as many crimes as can be concocted so that he is forced to spend large amounts of time & money to defend himself. The Dems don’t want to run against me or they would not be doing this unprecedented weaponization of “Justice.” BUT SOON, IN 2024, IT WILL BE OUR TURN. MAGA!”
