Joe Biden has a lot of issues facing him if he is to have any chance of holding off Donald Trump in the November General Election. Despite Democrat assertions to the contrary, Americans can see and feel a bad economy, rising crime, and a burgeoning border crisis, and polling shows that Americans are none too happy about any of it. Biden pounded abortion, January 6, and Ukraine all in the first few minutes of his State of the Union speech rather than immediately addressing what is actually on voters’ minds. According to many polls, the number one concern for Americans is immigration and the southern border.
Biden waited until much later to address the border and, rather than offer any new solutions instead, castigated Republicans for blocking the massive border bill the Democrats so desperately want. Of course, the border bill is chock full of money for Ukraine and Israel, which has absolutely nothing to do with our southern border and the surging migrant crisis which is the primary reason Republicans refuse to move forward with it.
The border crisis isn’t just affecting border towns. Many sanctuary cities like New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Chicago are so overrun with migrants that residents are furious, and local politicians are scrambling to find solutions, with some even reconsidering their sanctuary city status.
The migrant surge has affected all parts of the country, and as Biden continues to take criticism, the leftist media is once again running cover for his failures. Far-left network MSNBC and panelists Rachel Maddow, Joy Reid, and Jen Psaki recently put on full display precisely what is wrong with liberals. During Super Tuesday coverage, the trio had a good laugh at the expense of voters in Virginia, who listed immigration as their number one concern.
Joy Reid lambasted white, working-class Republican voters in the state saying “They’re voting on race. They’re voting on this idea of an invasion of Brown people over the border.” In her usual condescending, reductive manner, Reid made borderline racist assertions without noting the large number of migrants who aren’t “brown people.” In fact, there are Chinese, Haitian, Russian, Ukrainian, and numerous Middle Eastern countries represented in the border crossing demographics.
As Reid and Maddow laughed, Psaki said: “Look at some of these exit polls. I live in Virginia. Immigration was the number one issue,” to which Maddow added, “Well, Virginia does have a border with West Virginia.” In the usual leftist manner, the panel blamed Trump, Psaki said, “You’re thinking like, what? Trump has indoctrinated people with this fear of people who do not look like them being a threat to them.”
Maddow flippantly said: “You make these things an issue, you make them into boogeymen… as long as there’s a Democratic incumbent to blame on it.” The popular X account “End Wokeness” reminded the panel that geography was not the issue here. Referring to the murder of Georgia student Laken Riley by an illegal migrant, they posted: “Jen Psaki and Rachel Maddow mock West Virginians for worrying about immigration despite their distance from the border. Athens, GA is 1,211 miles from the border. Ask the parents of Laken Riley if distance matters.”
