The trailer for Disney’s live-action remake of The Little Mermaid was trounced by fans on YouTube, garnering over one million “dislikes” against just a few hundred thousand “likes” in the first week since its release on the social media platform.
A teaser trailer released roughly six months ago is up to 3.5 million “dislikes” compared to just 1.2 million “likes.” Clearly, audiences have had enough of the woke left’s constant erasure of iconic characters at the altar of representation.
In this case, The Little Mermaid features the divisive and played-out practice of race-swapping the main character; in this case, Disney’s pale-skinned, red-haired protagonist has been replaced by a dark-skinned, dark-haired actress in the incessant push for more “representation.”
Take a look at the trailer for yourself and determine if this is a movie enhanced by race-swapping Ariel:
Naturally, any criticism of the film has provoked the ire of the woke outrage mob. Activists see the concerns and critiques as nothing more than possessing racist undertones. Despite the woke left’s and Disney’s incessant push to recreate every beloved piece of literature and cinema by trading out either white or straight characters, they respond with the least self-aware comment possible.
The woke left claims the MAGA trolls hating on the film obsess over immutable characteristics. It’d be funny if the issue weren’t so serious at this point.
Leftist par excellence Josh Gaad, who starred in a previous live-action remake of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. In that abomination, Gaad’s portrayal of main villain Gaston’s sidekick LeFou appeared to be homosexual, itself an example of the same forced narrative nonsense now on display with a black Ariel.
Gaad took to Twitter to summarize the left’s complete lack of self-awareness and an amazing knack for projection.
Imagine being so broken and pathetic in life that your chief concern is the skin color of… a make-believe singing mermaid. https://t.co/7F6F8LT2b9

“Imagine being so broken and pathetic in life that your chief concern is the skin color of… a make-believe singing mermaid,” Gaad tweeted.
Again, the only people obsessing over skin color are the woke cultists who say conservatives’ color-blind approach to life is racist.
Set to debut in cinemas May 26, the live-action The Little Mermaid features an ethnically diverse cast, with actress Halle Bailey, who is black, in the title role and Melissa McCarthy, who is white, as Ursula, the sea witch. The two actresses appeared onstage at the Oscars on Sunday to present the trailer in what felt like a glorified Disney junket.
The left is trying to blame Trump supporters for the trailer’s negative reception, claiming without evidence that “MAGA racists” have launched a “dislike” campaign against the movie.
Breitbart then includes a tweet from an account called Call To Activism and shared their hideous message.
BREAKING: The YouTube trailer of The Little Mermaid is currently being mass “disliked” on Youtube by MAGA racists.
The teaser trailer has generated over 3 million dislikes, and the new trailer has over 600,000.

BREAKING: The YouTube trailer of The Little Mermaid is currently being mass “disliked” on Youtube by MAGA racists,” the tweet says. “The teaser trailer has generated over 3 million dislikes, and the new trailer has over 600,000.”
“The important thing about the controversy surrounding Halle Bailey’s casting is that we remember a beautiful and talented actress won the role. We can’t allow racism to ever be normalized,” it finished.
For the umpteenth time, no one cares that the actress, Halle Bailey, is black. It’s a non-issue for nearly everyone.
The problem is that Bailey wasn’t cast because she was the best choice for the role; she was cast because she checked the right boxes. Bailey’s casting isn’t occuring in a vacuum. Instead, it continues a toxic tradition of erasing tradition and people in real time. It’s also an example of the absolute void of creativity in leftist circles. Rather than create something new, the best they can do is appropriate an existing storyline and shoehorn in something they value – at the expense of everything else.
