“Last Nails in the Coffin of this Economy”: Food Company CEO Sounds Off on Harris’s Price-Fixing Plan [WATCH]

Speaking with guest host Will Cain on “Jesse Watters Primetime,” Goya Foods CEO Bob Unanue sounded off on the price-fixing proposal that Vice President Kamala Harris made on the campaign trail, saying that the idea is a disaster and that the government has “no business” whatsoever in trying to fix prices.

Goya Foods, as background, is the largest Hispanic-owned food company in the United States, and Unanue is known as a Trump supporter. Unanue, during the interview on Fox News Channel, said that the Biden-Harris administration “started a war” against the American middle class, a war it started on “day one.”

Harris had promised to fix prices on the campaign trail the week before Unanue’s interview, saying, “As president, I will take on the high costs that matter most to most Americans, like the cost of food. We all know that prices went up during the pandemic when the supply chains shut down and failed. But our supply chains have now improved. And prices are still too high.”

Speaking about the economic policies of the Biden-Harris administration and how they will ruin the American economy, Unanue said, “They’re using a nail gun to put the last nails in the coffin of this economy and this country. From day one, they put in executive orders that set this country on a disastrous path.”

He added, commenting on how insane it is for the government to tell companies what price to sell things for, “You know, when I was a kid, if you had a lemonade stand and it cost $0.10 for the glass, the straw, the product to go to the store to get it, and then the government comes along and says, I want you to sell that lemonade for a penny. You know, you just got to fold up your lemonade stand and go home.”

Unanue further added that the grocery business has quite low margins, so forcing them to push down prices would be a disaster for the industry. He said, “And the grocery business, which does make 1 to 2% and hires a lot of people, those people are forced to… we’re going to put them out of business by controlling pricing.”

Unanue is far from the only one to call out Kamala’s policy proposal. Former President Donald Trump did so as well in a fiery post on Truth Social, saying, “Comrade Kamala Harris is terrible for our Country. She is a Communist, has always been a Communist, and will always be a Communist. Under her “leadership,” the USA will fail, and fail quickly. We will not let that happen!!!”

In another post about Kamala being a communist, he wrote, “The Radical Left protesters in Chicago are going after the Democrat Party because the know they are weak and ready to break into a full blown party of Socialism or, if they really do their job, and with a little bit of luck, the Communist Party of the United States of America. They are already very close and, having a Marxist trained and believing President whose father is a Marxist professor, Comrade Kamala Harris, stranger things have happened! November 5th, 2024, will be the most important day in the history of our Country. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
