Lady Gaga Sued for Not Paying $500k Reward to Woman Who Returned Kidnapped Dogs

In 2021, Lady Gaga’s dogs, Koji and Gustav, were stolen from the singer’s dog walker at gunpoint. The singer, desperately wanting the dogs back, offered to pay the gargantuan sum of $500k for them. Moreover, she said she’d pay whoever returned them with “no questions asked.”

Predictably enough, the woman who allegedly stole the dogs in the first place returned them. She was charged for doing so, but wanted the half a million reward for returning the dogs. The furious singer, equally predictably, didn’t want to cough up the money to pay the kidnapper.

So, in a bizarre lawsuit one could only expect from the clown world we live in, the woman charged for the dognapping is now suing the woman whose dogs she stole to recover the reward for returning the missing dogs.

That woman is named Jennifer McBride. She returned the dogs at the LAPD Olympic Community state two days after they were stolen at gunpoint on the streets of Los Angeles. McBride was charged with the crime and was dating the father of one of the men who conducted the dognapping. She then pled no contest and was given two years probation.

So she was intimately involved in the crime, but now she wants the money for returning the stolen property. In fact, the also wants damages for Gaga not ponying up the cash immediately. In the lawsuit, McBride demands damages for the pain and suffering, mental anguish, and loss of enjoyment of life she claims to have suffered due to her not immediately receiving the $500,000. She is demanding the court to triple the damages to $1.5 million

TMZ later updated the report on the strange saga of Lady Gaga’s dogs, reporting that:

L.A. County Deputy District Attorney, Michele Hanisee, tells TMZ McBride was MORE than aware the pups were stolen when she returned them in hopes of obtaining the reward, and had known the men involved in the shooting for years.

What’s more, Hanisee says she believes McBride and co. thought they could get her involved undetected because she was a white woman. She also points out McBride is still on probation, and if Gaga suffered any sort of financial loss, the people could seek financial restitution from McBride.

The crime in which the dogs were stolen was a horrific one. TMZ, reporting on it, said:

TMZ broke the story … Gaga’s dog walker, Ryan Fischer, was walking 3 of Gaga’s pups in Los Angeles on February 24, 2021 when several men pulled up in a car, jumped out and stole the two dogs … also shooting Fischer in the process.

Fischer was left on the sidewalk pleading for help when neighbors came to his aid, he survived his injuries.

James Howard Jackson, who cops say was the trigger man, pled no contest to a count of attempted murder and was sentenced to 21 years in prison.

So the woman involved in that – a shooting that nearly left a man dead – has the hubris to demand one and a half million dollars from the person the dogs were stolen from! Hopefully even California courts aren’t idiotic enough to grant the damages.
