In a wild incident during the September 30 White House Press Briefing, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre (KJP) attempted to fact-check Fox News Senior White House Correspondent Peter Doocy after Mr. Doocy brought up number of illegal immigrants who are convicted of murder but have crossed into America and are living here regardless of their convictions. Doocy managed to counter her, and the internet oblitered KJP in the wake of the incident.
As background, according to a recently released ICE report that has not been shown to be false, tens of thousands of illegal immigrants with criminal backgrounds are living in America. As we at The American Tribune reported: “13,000 of them are convicted of murder, 15,000 are convicted of sexual assault, 56,000 have drug convictions, 62,000 have assault convictions, 18,000 have larceny convictions, 14,000 have burglary convictions, 13,000 have weapon offense convictions, and 2,500 have kidnapping convictions. Despite those convictions, they are not detained by ICE.”
Doocy asked, “Thirteen thousand people who have been convicted of murder crossed the border illegally and are living among us. So, how much danger are U.S. communities in right now because of this?” KJP insisted that the report was a misrepresentation, saying, “First of all, the false — the — the false representation of the data ICE shared — so, that was what we are seeing: false representation. And it’s been fact-checked by some of your colleagues here, by multiple — multiple — multiple outlets.” She added, “That has been debunked on what has been falsely misrepresenta- — or mis- — misrepresented here. So, we have to call that out.” Mr. Doocy then asked her what it was that had been misrepresented and she melted down, rambling about tangential subjects.
As might be expected, KJP was oblitered by the internet after the incident. One commenter, summarizing what happened and adding some funny commentary, said, “KJP can’t handle the truth. Doocy: ‘There are 13,000 people who have been convicted of murder who have crossed the border illegally.’ KJP: ‘This has been fact checked… It has been debunked on what has been falsely represented.’ Doocy: ‘Can you clarify what the misrepresentation is?’ KJP: *Fails miserably*”
Similarly, highly popular conservative X commentator Collin Rugg wrote, “NEW: KJP says the new ICE report that reveals 13,000 illegals convicted of m*rder have entered the country, has been “fact-checked,” can’t name a single fact check. Doocy: 13,000 people convicted of m*rder have crossed the border illegally and are living among us. KJP: That’s a false representation, I gotta call that out. It’s been fact checked. Doocy: Can you clarify what the misrepresentation is? KJP: *Goes on confusing rant.* Doocy was referring to new ICE data that revealed how 425,000 convicted criminals have entered the country under Kamala Harris and Joe Biden.”
Replying to Collin, one commenter said, “She has to be one of the most incompetent Press Secretaries I’ve ever listened to.” Collin, responding funnily, said, “Q: What do you think of all those convicted m*rderers who have been let in? KJP: That’s been fact checked. Q: Can you cite the fact check? KJP: Nope!”
Similarly, another commenter on the same post alleged that KJP was an awful “DEI hire,” saying, “Lying through her teeth, again. What a horrible DEI hire.” Collin responded by saying, “She has shown us that being a press secretary is not that hard of a job. Call everything fake and then move on to the next question.”
A different commenter on a seperate post about the incident argued that Doocy could have done a better job holding her feet to the fire on the incident, saying, “Love Doocy but he got sidetracked here, he should of responded those numbers were provided by the Department of Homeland Security, there is nothing to debunk.”
