Kelsey Grammer, long-time star of the hit show “Frasier,” was a proud father this week as he celebrated Christmas with his seven kids. By being outspoken about his faith and love for his family, Grammer has made a name for himself recently as a Hollywood star who really is down to Earth and a good family man, something that many Americans love to see in their shows and movies.
Grammer, like so many other parents, had to go about orchestrating the family get-together this Christmas season. And, like so many other parents, the first hurdle was deciding where to host the family for the best holiday of the year. For Grammer, the answer became rather clear when he weighed the options.
He said, “We’re going to be in L.A. We always wrestle with – well, should we just travel? But then, honestly, home is home. And it’s nice to be home for Christmas and to celebrate and sit under the tree and have a fire and all the things we can still do.”
Grammer doesn’t let himself forget the love that he has for his family or how lucky he is to have them all in the same room. As a man who seemingly has every material thing that he could need, he made it clear that there was still one thing that he wanted for Christmas. Family.
Kelsey explained, “It’s really lovely. We have a magnificent family. And it’s grown and grown throughout my years. You know, I’m up to seven kids and of all different ages. And it’s fantastic. And if they can all be in the same room together and happy and smiling – nothing makes me happier. That’d be my Christmas present.”
In his professional life, there are also big rumblings coming from his favorite character of all time, “Frasier.” The show received a reboot season on Paramount+ and just wrapped up with its season finale a couple of weeks ago. While some were worried that a reboot would only do harm to the legacy of the massively successful series, Grammer was quick to disagree with those detractors.
“A lot of people think it’s an untouchable show. There’s a lot of sentiment from some of the past players. You know, it’s like, ‘Oh, it’s a jewel. It should be left alone. You can’t touch it.’ And I don’t think anything is that precious. I just don’t, because I mean, it’s like, ‘Come on.’ He’s a living, breathing character. He’s gone another 20 years. He might be interesting to catch up to. Let’s have a look into his life and see.”
Kelsey Grammer offered his fans an amazing reminder of what the Christmas Season is really about. While it can be about gift-giving or amazing meals, the true gift of the season is being with family. Having all of his people under one roof once again gave Grammer a level of happiness and wholeness that no gift under a tree ever could.
