Well, Kanye West {“Ye”) seemed intent on testing the limits of free speech on Twitter now that it’s under Elon’s management and last night found them, getting kicked off for a post that involved the mixing of a swastika with a star of David.
Ye’s testing of Twitter’s limits began when he was let back on the platform and said “Shalom” when he was let back on after originally being kicked off for a post about going “Death Con Three on Jewish People” (he probably meant DEFCON) and then telling Alex Jones during an appearance on Info Wars that he’d let him have access to his account.
Those comments made it past the powers that be, as did Kanye’s less controversial comments about God, love, and Jesus. Further, unlike Twitter in the past, Elon’s Twitter didn’t kick him off for daring to engage in what Orwell might have called “double-plus bad wrongthink” when he appeared on InfoWars.
At one point, for example, he said “Well, I see good things about Hitler, also. Every human being has value that they brought to the table, especially Hitler” after Alex Jones said “You’re not Hitler. You’re not a Nazi.” At another point he said “We gotta stop dissing the Nazis all the time”. There was also this exchange:
Ye: “Hitler had a really good outfit and was a good architect and he didn’t kill 6 million Jews.”
Jones: “I think Hitler did target and kill some people.”
Ye: “I think Obama killed Palestinians. And Obama was not the first black president. He was another Jewish president.”
So that happened, yet even that wasn’t enough to get him kicked off the new version of the bird app. But then he posted a picture of a swastika mixed with a star of David and suggested that it would be his 2024 campaign logo. For whatever reason, that was deemed “incitement to violence” and Ye was suspended from the supposedly free speech Twitter, with Musk saying:
“I tried my best. Despite that, he again violated our rule against incitement to violence. Account will be suspended.”
Elon later added that the suspension happened because of “incitement to violence”, not because of an unflattering picture Kanye had posted of him shirtless on a yacht, saying:
“Just clarifying that his account is being suspended for incitement to violence, not an unflattering picture of me being hosed by Ari.
“Frankly, I found those pics to be helpful motivation to lose weight!”
What was not clear from Elon’s message, however, is how long Ye’s suspension will last for or if it will be permanent. Perhaps Elon is avoiding giving a hard date so that he can just wait for Kanye’s apparent mental break to be over and then let him back on the bird app. We’ll have to wait and see, but it seems likely that Yanye will have to post on Parler, which he recently acquired, rather than Twitter for the foreseeable future.
Gab CEO Andrew Torba would also probably like to bring Kanye to Gab, as he sent out an email saying, in part (emphasis his):
God often uses the most unexpected people in the most unexpected ways to accomplish His Will and as wild as it might seem: God is using Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, for a big purpose. I have no doubt of this in my heart based on what I have seen and heard from the man over the past few months.
God can use anyone He wants in order to accomplish His will. We don’t get to pick and choose, He does. We need to have faith and pray for everyone involved in what God is doing through Ye right now. Pray for a host of angels to surround and protect Ye and those around him. Pray for the Holy Spirit to give them discernment and wisdom. Pray that many people will come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior through Ye’s immense cultural influence on the youth. Pray that people will look beyond the attacks of the Enemy to destroy and defame him. Pray that people will see that what is going on is much bigger than politics. It’s spiritual warfare.
I believe that Ye demonstrated the love of Jesus Christ today on Infowars, which extends to all people. It’s unthinkable and sad that many Christians are failing to understand this basic Biblical concept and are once again taking the lying media headlines at face value. How many times do we need to learn this lesson? The red media is not our friend. All they do is lie, misrepresent and fabricate to form fear and drive people away from Truth.
Christ’s love and forgiveness extends to the beggar, the stealer, the murder, and the tyrant. The love and salvation of Jesus Christ is open to ALL. That was my takeaway from watching the Ye interview on Infowars today in full as it aired live. If you take the time to ignore the clickbait headlines, set aside the programmed emotional responses that have been drilled into your brain for decades, and sit down and listen to the man speak for the full interview I think you’ll come to the same conclusion.
