In one of the more unintentionally hilarious reports in recent memory, Vice President Kamala Harris is reportedly gathering statistics on Joe Biden’s reelection campaign in order to formulate a strategy to rescue his flailing numbers. Biden is trailing former President Trump in most polls, and Harris thinks she can crack the code to put Biden over the top.
Biden trails Trump in numerous swing state polls, some by as many as 11 points, and the Democrats are nervous. Many Democrats privately don’t want Biden to run due to his age, but apparently, Harris is grilling staffers to“penetrate” the “bubble of Biden campaign thinking.” Considering Harris regularly serves word salad when she speaks, it is hard to know precisely what that means.
An unnamed Democrat stated about the campaign, “The ‘bedwetting’ complaints are running thin with people. The West Wing and the campaign need to be better.” The same person also said that Harris has been performing well in fielding Biden’s criticism, and she “deserves credit for it.” Some could consider Harris’ efforts as undermining the sitting president, but it’s reported that she is now viewed as a crucial part of the campaign.
Harris has expressed concerns that Bien will lose “to the couch” rather than President Trump. Perhaps she is implying that voters won’t come out to vote for Biden, instead sitting the election out. In response, Harris is taking extra meetings with staffers to find one of the not-so-obvious reasons the 81-year-old president isn’t polling well.
The Vice President has been quoted as saying, “By the way, we’re gonna win,” when wrapping up meetings with staffers. Whether or not she has inspired any confidence probably depends on how effectively she relayed her message, which usually isn’t good. Meanwhile, Harris is set to take to the campaign trail to pound a familiar drum.
The Vice President announced at the end of 2023 that she would hit the campaign trail and pound the issue of abortion from state to state. The hot-button issue largely prevented the expected Red wave in 2022, and Democrats hope to dust off a fan favorite like abortion and rile up female voters in swing states.
Aside from abortion, the left has precious little to run on. Harris can’t tout a failing economy or an open border, so her work may be cut out for her. On the topic of the southern border, as Biden and his border chief struggle with a humanitarian crisis, Harris has claimed that her responsibilities lie with Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador, none of which border the United States.
Counting on Kamala Harris to save Joe Biden’s campaign may be as effective as using a bucket on a house fire, but that’s precisely where the Biden campaign is. Perhaps more accurately, it is a dumpster fire, much like his presidency.
In any case, VP Harris is, whatever her plans of saving the Biden-Harris Campaign, unable to get away from using her signature word salads when asked nearly anything, making it hard to believe that she has a much better grasp of things or popular touch than Joe.
