Vice President Kamala Harris recently appeared on CNN and claimed that Bidenomics has been “good work” for the American economy. Throughout the Biden-Harris administration, inflation has run rampant, and historically high price increases have burdened consumers. Critics have blamed Biden and Harris’s policies for exacerbating inflationary pressures.

Speaking with CNN’s Dana Bash about the economic agenda of the Biden-Harris administration, the vice president claimed, “There’s more to do.  But that’s good work.”  Bash asked Harris, “You have been vice president for three and a half years. The steps that you’re talking about now, why haven’t you done them already?”

Harris responded, “Well, first of all, we had to recover as an economy, and we have done that. I’m very proud of the work that we have done that has brought inflation down to less than three percent.”  Bash followed up, “And you maintain Bidenomics is a success.”  Kamala replied, claiming that Bidenomics is “good work” while citing the supposed accomplishments of the agenda.

Harris continued, “I maintain that when we do the work of bringing down prescription medication for the American people, including capping the cost of the annual cost of prescription medication for seniors at $2,000 when we do what we did in the first year of being in office to extend the child tax credit so that we cut child poverty in America by over 50% when we do what we have done to invest in the American people, in bringing manufacturing back to the United States, so that we created over 800,000 new manufacturing jobs, bringing business back to America.”

The vice president also touched on supply chain economics, one of the most significant contributors to inflation during the post-pandemic environment.  “What we have done to improve the supply chain so we’re not relying on foreign governments to supply American families with their basic needs. I’ll say that that’s good work. There’s more to do, but that’s good work,” she said.

However, Vice President Harris has received substantial backlash on her plan to impose price controls on groceries.  Former President Trump called out Harris’ recent proposal, labeling the policy as “full-communist.”  He stated at a recent rally, “Kamala went full-communist. She went full-communist.  She wants to destroy our country. After causing catastrophic inflation, comrade Kamala announced that she wants to institute socialist price controls. You saw that, never worked before. Never ever worked. This is the Maduro plan, Venezuela, Maduro plan of the old Soviet Union. They tried it. How did the Soviet Union work out? It became Russia.”

Trump continued, “It will cause rationing, hunger, and skyrocketing prices, just like their Inflation Reduction Act caused one of the great scams of all time,” he explained. “They got it approved with a beautiful name, Inflation Reduction, because inflation under their system has been so bad, it’s gone up much more than 50%, you know they say 30%, 40%, 50% … people are being devastated. They’re being devastated, but it’s gone way up, way up.”
