In big news for former President Donald Trump and his supporters, much-detested CNN host Jim Acosta appears to be out of the network after having been officially pulled from its programming schedule. Such was reported on Monday, January 27.
This news follows a report from last week that noted the network was replacing his mid-morning program with “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer and Pamela Brown,” in a scrambling attempt to reattract viewers after extremely bad ratings numbers.
Because of that shuffling of the shows, Acosta was reportedly pitched on the idea of doing a two-hour show starting at midnight, a far-less notable or distinguished show position and one that Mr. Acosta very much did not like. Acosta refused.
In fact, a CNN insider told Fox News Digital that, while Acosta “struggled with the choice” of what to do, he doesn’t want to do the midnight show and so is off the schedule, with it being possible that he will cut his contract short as well and be gone from the network entirely.
That insider, commenting on his refusal to move time slots for his show, told Fox News Digitial, “It takes courage.” Another insider reportedly told Fox News Digital that Acosta was relatively liked by the audience, saying, “Many viewers like Jim…”
That insider continued, noting that because he is relatively liked he could have potentially had made a success of his new time slot. The insider said, “if there is anyone who could make the overnight go, it’s him,” then added, “It’s sad to see him go.”
The matter led to a great deal of online commentary on X (formerly Twitter), where conservatives celebrated the news of Acosta’s semi-voluntary exit from the network. For example, Gunther Eagleman, the conservative X commentator, wrote, “JUST IN: Jim Acosta is done at CNN. Good riddance!”

Replying, commenters left many messages about Acosta’s reported exit and CNN’s continuing failure, saying things like, “Great news. They will continue to shrink,” “Another great day of winning! ,” “lol – the winning is glorious,” “See-ya Jim. (Well, hopefully not actually.),” and “LMAO they are losing libtards left and right.”
Another commentator, Greg Price, joked about Acosta’s ridiculous attempt to keep his job, saying, “Jim Acosta last week went on yet another sanctimonious rant about how he’s a superhero and that the free press is so sacred. One week later, he’s now leaving CNN after getting booted from the morning show.” Watch that here:
Commenters on Price’s post largely agreed with his sentiment about Acosta, saying things like, “Dollar store George Clooney will be forgotten by next week,” “He’s still mad about Trump calling him out and then grounding him,” “Trump is deporting him to the midnight shift,” “The wins keep coming,” and “Stupidity is entertaining sometimes- he will be missed lol.”
Also posting about the matter was Charlie Kirk, who wrote, “BREAKING: Notorious liberal scold and anti-Trump legacy news personality Jim Acosta is out at CNN. The media landscape is unrecognizable from the beginning of Trump’s first term in 2017, and that’s a very good thing for America.”
