Sean Hannity is preparing to walk down the aisle after proposing to fellow Fox News host Ainsley Earhardt. The longtime host of “Hannity” popped the question over Christmas at the couple’s home church, where their shared Christian faith has played a central role in their relationship. Earhardt accepted, and the couple announced that their children had given them their blessing. The two television personalities said they were “overjoyed” by the development.

Fox News announced the engagement on Thursday, December 26, 2024. The announcement confirmed that Hannity and Earhardt had taken the next step after dating privately for several years. Hannity hosts his nightly prime-time program from Florida, while Earhardt remains based in New York as a co-host of “Fox & Friends.” Their engagement brings together two of the network’s most recognizable personalities after years of keeping much of their relationship away from the public spotlight.

Hannity selected the couple’s church for the proposal because the two originally bonded over their faith. The couple has sought to place God first in their relationship. They described the church as the “perfect place” for the moment and met with their minister afterward. “We are overjoyed and so thankful to our families for all of their love and support during this wonderful time in our lives,” Hannity and Earhardt said in a joint statement.

As Trending Politics News reported, the couple’s children knew about the proposal and supported their decision to marry. Hannity has two children from his previous marriage. Earhardt shares a daughter with her former husband. The couple said their children “couldn’t be happier” about the engagement, giving Hannity and Earhardt their blessing before the news became public.

The couple has maintained a long-distance relationship while continuing their broadcasting careers in different states. Fox News reported that they regularly traveled between New York and Florida on weekends. The arrangement allowed Earhardt to continue appearing on “Fox & Friends” while Hannity broadcasts “Hannity” from Florida. Both hosts have long-term agreements with Fox News Media and plan to remain in their current positions.

Hannity joined Fox News when the network launched in 1996 and initially appeared alongside liberal commentator Alan Colmes on “Hannity & Colmes.” He later became the sole host of “Hannity” and has led his time slot in the cable-news ratings for years. His nationally syndicated radio show is also carried by hundreds of stations across the country. Hannity has expanded his work through Fox Nation programs, long-form interviews and the network’s annual Patriot Awards.

Earhardt joined Fox News in 2007. She became a co-host of “Fox & Friends” in 2016. In addition to her morning television duties, she hosts “Ainsley’s Bible Study” on Fox Nation and has written several New York Times bestselling books, including multiple children’s titles. The University of South Carolina awarded her an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree in 2024 in recognition of her work in broadcasting and publishing.

Both Hannity and Earhardt were previously married, and the couple said they continue to have supportive relationships with their former spouses. Earhardt and her former husband share responsibility for raising their daughter, while Hannity is the father of two adult children. Their former spouses were also told about the engagement before the public announcement. “We actually made them aware this was happening ahead of time,” Hannity and Earhardt said.
