In some very good news for those who take a good bit of pleasure at seeing the woke media fall to pieces and who are tired of hearing Joy Reid’s rants, it has been announced that far-left MSNBC has decided to pull the plug on Joy Reid and cancel her long-running show “The Reidout” as it shakes up network program in a desperate attempt to improve ratings.
The move comes amidst MSNBC’s parent company, Comcast, reportedly trying to ready MSNBC and related cable networks for a sale meant to improve its finances and get those financial albatrosses off of its balance sheet. Comcast’s decision to sell MSNBC and the other cable networks had been announced late in 2024, and was seen by some as an attempt by Comcast to protect its business and reputation in the Trump Era.
In any case, Joy Reid’s program, which has aired at 7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on weeknights, will reportedly be replaced by a new show hosted by a slew of political figures: former Bernie Sanders campaign spokeswoman Symone Sanders, former RNC chairman Michael Steele, and Alicia Menendez, the daughter of corruption-convicted Senator Bob Menendez.
Reid admitted the news in a post on Instagram and related social media channels in which she said she was proud of her show and thanked her supporters, saying, “I just want to say thank you to everyone who has reached out with kindness and encouragement, both personally and in these social media streets. So very proud of The Reidout @joy.msnbc.com team, who are truly family, and all of our supporters & friends. See you tomorrow night at 7, one more time !!”
Captioning that screenshot post on Instagram, Reid said that she would see her supporters again at the usual time on MSNBC and that she has been overrun with people wishing her well via text, saying, “See you Monday night at 7pm ET. Love you #reiders fam! (And I’m overrun with text messages but will return them all, I promise!) ❤️”
While Reid will still be around on MSNBC on the night of Monday, February 24, as she said on Instagram, she will be off the air after her final episode on Tuesday, February 25, after which point the new show hosted by the three aforementioned political figures will take over her 7 pm EST time slot on the cable network.
The move against Reid, coming alongside parent company Comcast’s plans to sell off several NBCUniversal cable networks, such as MSNBC, also comes alongside Reid struggling to attract viewers. As Fox News Digital reported, “The ReidOut” only managed to bring in 973,000 viewers in February 2025, a whopping 28% decline from the 1.3 million she garnered in February of 2024.

President Trump, posting about the matter on Truth Social, said, “Lowlife Chairman of “Concast,” Brian Roberts, the owner of Ratings Challenged NBC and MSDNC, has finally gotten the nerve up to fire one of the least talented people in television, the mentally obnoxious racist, Joy Reid. Based on her ratings, which were virtually non-existent, she should have been “canned” long ago, along with everyone else who works there. Also thrown out was Alex Wagner, the sub on the seriously failing Rachel Maddow show. Rachel rarely shows up because she knows there’s nobody watching, and she also knows that she’s got less television persona than virtually anyone on television except, perhaps, Joy Reid.”
He added, “Then there’s, of course, the LOW IQ Con Man, Al Sharpton, who has, perhaps, the lowest TV ratings in the history of television. What is he doing to Brian Roberts to stay on the air? This whole corrupt operation is nothing more than an illegal arm of the Democrat Party. They should be forced to pay vast sums of money for the damage they’ve done to our Country. Fake News is an UNPARDONABLE SIN!”
