While Georgia Governor Brian Kemp speaks to the World Economic Forum in Davos, the largest city in his state is under attack, with Antifa thugs running wild in the streets and attempting to set up another CHAZ-like “autonomous zone” in the city.
The founder of Old Row, a conservative, college-focused entertainment brand, posted about what was happening in the city of “Gone with the Wind,” saying “For context, the #ANTIFA riot is happening in #atlanta tonight because they had set up an “autonomous zone” called #CopCity and shot a police officer who made contact with them and he killed the shooter when returning fire.”
Replying to that founder, who goes by “Swig” online, people said things like:
“This is the same city that got a 6 year old girl murdered because they didn’t want to anger the black community. So they let an armed group of them burn down and take over a Wendy’s (The little girl they shot was black)”
“So they basically an insurrection, a real one.”
“It’s long overdue to designate ANTIFA as a terrorist organization and it’s members treated the same as ISIS.”
Another commenter pointed out that the “autonomous zone” attempt was sparked not by the recent shooting of an Antifa thug by an Atlanta police officer, saying “that is not exactly true sir. i condemn the riots but the “autonomous zone” you are talking about is where they were trying to block the city from demolishing the largest forest in the city in favor of a policy training facility. So this was not like Portland Antifa“.
Whatever the spark that set the tinder, whether a police training facility or a police-involved shooting, the violence and damage were extensive, as footage and photos from the city-turned-warzone showed:

That’s not all. The mayor of the city, Andre Dickens, a leftist if ever there was one, even admitted that some of the “protesters” were carrying explosives on them during the insurrection attempt. Watch that here:

The mayor did add, however, that the rioting has been contained and that the city won’t tolerate property damage, saying “Atlanta is safe and our police officers have resolved the disruptions downtown from earlier in the evening.” Continuing, he said “The City of Atlanta and the Atlanta Police Department will continue to protect the right to peaceful protest. We will not tolerate violence or property destruction.”
Fox News Digital, reporting on what sparked the riots, claimed that they were sparked not by the police training facility but by the shooting to death of an Antifa member, saying:
The protests began peacefully on Saturday before spiraling into chaotic riots, according to FOX 5. Over the span of several hours, destruction ensued through several blocks of the downtown area.
Protestors were angry about the death of 26-year-old Manuel Esteban Paez Teran, who was killed by police after he allegedly refused demands from authorities on Wednesday and fired a gun at state troopers at the site of the new Atlanta Public Safety Training Center.
The activist reportedly identified as a nonbinary person who went by the name Tortuguita (“little turtle” in Spanish) and used they/it pronouns. Protesters carried signs with Tortuguita’s name on Saturday.
