MSNBC host Joy Reid has been fired from her position, and her show has been canceled. Reid posted an emotional video addressing the development. In the clip, she doubled down on her woke values and defended her show. Reid said that her show had a spiritual element and was ‘Of God.’ Online commentators were unconvinced, and many mocked her work on the liberal network.

“My show had value, and I’m not sorry for what I was doing,” she began. “Can tell you, [it] had value… and it mattered. I see Karen is there, and she’s been texting me as well. And so what I will just say is that, in the end, thank you…I went hard on so many issues, whether it was Black Lives Matter, issues of a young baby or a mom or dad that was killed.”

“…We opened up people’s eyes to the fact that Asian Americans were being targeted, and not just black folks that or went hard for immigrants who’ve done nothing but come to this country like my parents did and try to make a life and defended them,” she explained. “Um, or whether we’ve talked about what the President is doing that is subversive to the Constitution, that is injurious to our liberty.”

“You know, [banning] books that he’ll find inconvenient,” Reid said.” You know that Nicole Hannah Jones put into our spirit that we need to understand 1619 as the real founding of this country, whether it’s talking about any of these issues, and yes, whether it’s talking about Gaza and the fact that we, as the American people have a right to object, have a right to object to little babies being [killed].”

“Where I come down on that is I’m not sorry. I am not sorry that I stood up for those things because those things are of God. And you know, I’m a church girl too, and those that, those are the things that I was taught were of God, and so I’m not sorry, I’m just proud of My show. Your Show,” she finally concluded. While this clip made headlines for its dramatic contents, it was not where Reid initially announced her termination.

Reid announced her firing on Instagram, saying, “I just want to say thank you to everyone who has reached out with kindness and encouragement, both personally and in these social media streets. So very proud of The Reidout @joy.msnbc.com team, who are truly family, and all of our supporters & friends. See you tomorrow night at 7, one more time !!”

“Your show had no value; it negatively impacted your fellow citizens by spewing malicious lies on every episode. You want to be a value add; report the facts; good, bad, indifferent. Respect your audience enough to make the judgement,” one account bluntly reacted. “When you live your entire life espousing vitriolic hate, the sympathy tank emptied a long time ago. I have none. You reap what you sow,” another user replied.

“Just listing off a litany of hoaxes she promoted, calling them “of God,” as a summary of her time on air. The joke totally lost on her,” another user insightfully pointed out.  Another said,” You hate to see it. And by hate to see it, I mean it’s hilarious.” While Reid’s show has been canceled, one more episode is set to air live this week.
