Adam Sandler is known as one of the nicest guys in Hollywood. That is saying something considering the me-first attitude and shameless self-promotion that exists in that industry. The Saturday Night Live alum and comedian has had a long and successful career in comedy as well as drama. Once considered just a frat-guy type comedian, Sandler has aged and transitioned into a successful dramatic actor and occasional action star.
One such series of films is the Netflix originals “Murder Mystery,” and “Murder Mystery 2.” Both films, Netflix originals, also star one of Sandler’s best friends, former “Friends” star Jennifer Aniston. Despite both films being poorly received by critics, the chemistry between the friends did show through and the movies were successful.
Aniston has been open about her struggle with infertility and recently shared a touching story about Adam Sandler and his wife, Jackie. Though she didn’t go into detail, she did indicate that Sandler and his wife send flowers on Mother’s Day every year as a nice gesture since the “Horrible Bosses” star has accepted that she will never have kids.
Recently the 54-year-old star opened up about her struggles. she said: “It was a challenging road for me, the baby-making road. All the years and years and years of speculation… It was really hard. I was going through IVF, drinking Chinese teas, you name it. I was throwing everything at it. I would have given anything if someone had said to me, ‘Freeze your eggs. Do yourself a favor.’ You just don’t think it.”
Aniston divorced Brad Pitt in 2005, and many speculated that she divorced Pitt and chose a career over children. The actress claims that is untrue and pushed back: “It was absolute lies,” the “narrative that I was just selfish… I just cared about my career. And God forbid a woman is successful and doesn’t have a child. And the reason my husband left me, why we broke up and ended our marriage, was because I wouldn’t give him a kid.”
Sources close to Aniston weighed in: “She’s always been happy, though. Her dogs are her kids to her and why she’s always had them. Her IVF journey was private and hers, and those close to her knew but never asked. But she’s at peace and is very happy in her life. She’s in a great place, and she knows that. Kids or no kids, it didn’t change her.”
It has become an alarming trend in terms of people choosing to not have kids. Birth rates are declining nationaly with many women simply deciding this world isn’t a place they want to bring a child into. While Aniston didn’t share that sentiment necessarily, hers was simply a case of waiting too long.
The “Friends” actress seems to be at peace with life and not being able to have kids. She said: “Here I am today. The ship has sailed. I actually feel a little relief now because there is no more, ‘Can I?’ I don’t have to think about that anymore.”
Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler are two of the biggest stars of the last 30 years. While she may not have kids, at least she has Sandler and his wife to be there for her when times get tough.
