Vice President JD Vance recently made waves on social media after he laid the verbal smackdown on Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed after he made insulting comments about his wife, second lady Usha Vance, telling him to “keep his wife’s name the hell out of his mouth.” El-Sayed responded with yet another insult. This time he has another Vance popping off at him.
The vice president’s mother, Beverly Vance Aikins responded to the comments by El-Sayed, saying that if the two ever met in public, she’d give him an old-school knuckle sandwich. She then noted that would not be the right course of action and would lead to trouble she didn’t need, so she’s just going to keep her cool.
“I’d probably punch the guy if I ever seen him, and then that would get me in trouble. So, I’ll just go with the flow,” Aikins went on to say during a conversation with Fox News host Tomi Lahren after she asked the vice president’s mom how she felt about the Michigan Democrat’s rude statements. Aikins and Lahren discussed a wide range of topics during the interview, including her overcoming opioid addiction, the Netflix produced film of Vance’s book, “Hillbilly Elegy,” and more.
According to a report from Fox News, Lahren asked Aikins if she is able to laugh off comments like the ones made by El-Sayed or if they make her angry. “I mean, it makes me mad, honestly, because he doesn’t know JD, and he doesn’t know, you know, what type of person he is, and I do. But, in the long run. I’m not going to do anything about it. … I’d probably punch the guy if I ever seen him, and then that would get me in trouble,” Aikins joked. “So, I’ll just go with the flow.”
“I think they’re jealous, honestly. I mean, JD is 42 years old. He’s handsome. He’s the vice president of the United States,” Aikins told Lahren. “He’s got a beautiful wife, four beautiful children, and jealousy is the only thing I can think of. I mean, he can take all the shots he wants. It’s going to go, you know, it’s going to get no merit from any of us.”
In April, El-Sayed commented that the vice president’s political views are inconsistent due to his children’s biracial background. “JD Vance has brown kids who he thinks are less American than everyone else. Like, that’s wild to look at your own kids and be like you don’t actually belong as much in this country that I brought you into,” the controversial Democrat said.
“Bro, it must break you every time you hug your own kids,” he added. El-Sayed, a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, then said he hopes that Vance’s children grow up and “undo” his politics. He’s also seemingly suggested that the second lady leave her husband, saying, “Usha get out…you’ve still got time.”
