In a powerful letter sent to Assistant Attorney General Colin McDonald, Vice President JD Vance, who is heading the Trump Administration’s war against fraud, referred far-left Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison to the Department of Justice for criminal prosecution, pointing to all they had done to cover up and hush up the Somali migrant fraud in their state.
Beginning the letter, Vance said, “Yesterday, you and I received a letter and report from Congressman James Comer, Chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Goverment Reform. The 205-page report contains shocking allegations about the failure of senior officials in the Minnesota government to address widespread fraud in federally funded social services programs in the state.”
Continuing, he noted that the report had revealed a consistent patter of bad behavior from the Walz government, including: “fraud warnings were elevated to the most senior levels of the Minnesota state government, meaningful corrective action was delayed or avoided, and payments continued long after credible signs of fraud emerged.”
He further noted that “Senior officials in Governor Walz’s office and Attorney General Ellison’s office were aware of credible, systemic fraud concers in social services programs as early as 2019… despite later public statements by Governor Walz suggesting otherwise,” and that “Instead of trying to stop widespread fraud, Governor Walz’s Administration retaliated against employces who tried to raise concerns, going to great lengths to keep them quiet, including intimidation through regular check-ins with high-level agency officials and threats of surveillance.”
As a result, he noted, hundreds of billions were stolen in teh Feeding Our Future scandal, and billions stolen from Medicaid, and some of that funding “likely ended up in the hands of international terrorist networks and certainly funded the lavish lifestyles of criminal fraudsters, while vulnerable populations were harmed.”
Then, connecting his anti-fraud task force to this situation after reviewing the sort of questions that need to be asked and answered about Walz’s role in the fraud, Vance said, “Since President Trump announced the launch of the Fraud Task Force, we have uncovered billions of dollars in fraud against the taxpayers. Money that should have gone to vulnerable Americans was instead being siphoned off by fraudsters. They didn’t just steal from the taxpayer; they prevented children, the elderly, and those most in need of help from receiving critical services. Thanks to the partnership between the Task Force and the Department of Justice, these fraudsters are now being brought to justice.”
He continued, noting that Walz and those like him need to be held accountable: “But we cannot stop there. If state officials in Minnesota or anywhere else in the country facilitated fraud or looked the other way while this theft was happening, if they actively prevented state and federal officials from stopping fraud and bringing fraudsters to justice, or if they intimidated and harassed whistleblowers who courageously tried to shine a light on this problem, they must be held accountable.”

Concluding by calling on the DOJ to launch a criminal investigation of Walz, he said, “It is imperative that the National Fraud Enforcement Division, in partnership with the appropriate investigative agencies and U.S. Attorneys’ Offices, open investigations to uncover the truth and bring any and all wrongdoers to justice. 1 am confident that, under your leadership, the Justice Department will respond to this referral and to Chairman Comer’s report with all appropriate urgency.”
