Aging actress Drew Barrymore got candid about her private bedroom activities in a revealing podcast episode this past week. Using her podcast as a platform to discuss a new Netflix series titled “How to Build a Sex Room,” which is itself concerning content for mainstream consumption, the conversation naturally veered off in the direction of reflective and honest dialogue.
Barrymore commented that the younger version of herself was open to all experiences. It made for quite a stunning revelation.
I’m a dirty bird,” Barrymore said. “But just in the corners of my mind where I never will tell, and it’s just for me. I can understand certain kinky things. Listen, I’ve tried everything. I’ve done everything. That’s why I’m so boring now.”
As the topic approached the intimate details of what she enjoy the most, Barrymore admitted that it was more about just trying everything as opposed to landing on a favorite thing.
“I don’t know if I was into it or not,” she admitted. “I just wanted to try everything.”
Noting that she likely checked off most bucket list items and has changed in her later stages of life, Barrymore said her bedroom evolution has reached a new stage. “Those days are long gone. Back when I was younger, I had all the energy in the world, but now? No.”
As the conversation ended up finding a middle ground between the Netfliox series they began discussing and the personal anecdotes from Barrymore, she was then asked if she could ever see herself constructing a “sex room” in her own house. She said she didn’t, but then acknowledged it’d be important to avoid all of the typical cliches.
“There wouldn’t be a lick of velvet,” Barrymore said. She then added: “That’s probably also why I don’t want a sex room is I don’t like the way they look.”
As bizarre as this entire conversation is, we shouldn’t be surprised. She has certainly lived the full Hollywood life, being born into a family of actors and later becoming a child actor in the early 1980s with the Steven Spielberg classic E.T. She got into the party scene at a wildly young age, entering rehab by the time she was just thirteen years old. She became emancipated from her parents at the age of fourteen.
She would enter rehab again at the age of fourteen after a failed suicide attempt and bounced around after that.
Barrymore posed nude for Playboy in 1995 and famously exposed herself to David Letterman during a taping of his “Late Show” as well.
As for this latest podcast, it seems that Barrymore is as open talking about her past sex life as she was living it. As Fox News wrote, the actress opened up that her ways had really changed after separating from her last husband.
This isn’t the first time Barrymore opened up about her life in the bedroom, explaining in October during an episode of “The Drew Barrymore Show” that she has abstained from sex since splitting with ex-husband Will Kopelman in 2016
On the show, Barrymore was discussing actor Andrew Garfield’s revelation that he stayed abstinent for six months.
“What’s wrong with me? That six months doesn’t seem like a very long time,” Barrymore remarked.
