“I’ve Had Enough”: Schumer and Pelosi Suffered Another Big Blow with Longtime Democrat Leaving Their Sinking Ship, Joining the GOP and Backing Trump [WATCH]

In a September 2024 interview on “The Ingraham Angle,” former California Democratic Senate Majority Leader Gloria Romero explained her switch to the Republican Party, warning Democrats that many disaffected members no longer recognize the “party of democracy” after a “rigged” primary sidelined voters.

This story remains relevant today because the radicalism described by Romero has continued unabated over the last year. Not only has California Gov. Gavin Newsom threatened to redistrict republican seats out of his state, but he also continued pushing woke polices of the sort that are causing increasingly large problems for California, such as the recent revelations surrounding the one million illegal aliens on the state public healthcare program.

In any case, starting off the impactful interview, Laura Ingraham began with an open question. “Joining me now is the woman you just saw, Gloria Romero, former California State Senate Democrat leader, Gloria, wow. What’s your warning to the Democrat party tonight?” she asked.

Romero fired back instantly, saying, “Thank you, Laura. There are so many more like me who have been disaffected Democrats, and we do not recognize this so-called party of democracy any longer. 14 million votes were simply thrown out in a primary that was already rigged from the beginning because the elites and the big party donors did not like the outcome. So I’ve just had enough. We’re out of here.’

Turning to the 2024 election, which was raging at the time, the Fox News host asked about soon-to-be-failed candidate Harris. “Gloria, did you have dealings with Kamala Harris when you were a California Senate leader?” Ingraham inquired.

Continuing, the former Democrat said, “I did see her in my public safety committee, which I chaired at one point. At that point, she had come in to pass a bill that looked to jail mothers of students who were truant and were not going to schools. But let me tell you. You know, I have tried championing school choice, education freedom in California. Her record as Attorney General showed that she did nothing to change the schools to provide for school choice in her hometown of Oakland, California.”

Supporting the last argument, she continued, “Today, 75% of both African American and Latino children are not reading or doing math at basic levels of proficiency, and yet she went to court with the teachers union very powerful big donors to block education reforms that these families had had the courage to go to court and sue over, that is the record of the Attorney General of California.”

Concluding this insightful point, she noted, “The absence of school choice, education freedom, open borders, crime rampant, a mockery of citizenship itself. There are many reasons that Democrats have been saying, Ya Vasta, and it is a warning that I’m not the only one. There are many of us who are looking to change, either officially, our party registration or simply vote Donald Trump in November, as I will.”

Wrapping up her comments, she noted, “I think people are hungry for common sense in California. It’s such an amazing state. You know, I thought I was going to live there after I took the bar exam, took the bar exam there, and love California. Still do, but it’s got to be saved. And I mean, are, do people want to save the state, or people want to see it, you know, swirl down the drain. I think Trump’s got to go there…what do you have to lose?”
