San Francisco 49ers Star Nick Bosa recently explained that it was “worth it” to flash a MAGA hat on TV during a post-game interview before the election. The standout defensive could reportedly be fined by the NFL for the move, which sparked backlash among the left. However, Boas is unmoved by the penalty, maintaining that his support for President-elect Trump is more important.
The incident occurred after the 49ers defeated the Dallas Cowboys last month, where quarterback Brock Purdy was speaking to NBC sideline reporter Melissa Stark. During the conversation, Bosa stormed into the shot with a white MAGA hat on. Standing before the camera, he pointed to his hat, making it apparent who he was supporting in the election.
Initially, the NFL indicated that it would wait until after the election to decide on the appropriate punishment for Bosa. However, officials stated there would be no suspension. However, Bosa holds no regrets. A reporter recently asked him about the stunt and the fine that could result. Bosa responded, “I don’t know. I haven’t got one yet, but if it comes, it comes.”
He further maintained, “Yeah, it was well worth it,” before adding, “I don’t think my position on speaking about it is going to change. So, clearly, the nation spoke, and we got what we got.” Ultimately, Bosa said it was enjoyable to make the political statement in front of millions of NFL viewers. “It was fun. A good time straight up,” he said.
The American Tribune has reported on various other professional athletes that publicly voiced their support for Donald Trump. Former MLB star Jonathan Lucroy celebrated the major political realignment that has occurred as a result of Trump’s massive victory. “It’s the dawn of a new era. What a blessing to live in this wonderful country where we can vote to make changes every 4 years,” Lucroy wrote. He explained that the “silent majority” had opposed the radical woke ideology. “Silent majority spoke up last night. Vehemently rejecting the radical, anti-American policies of the socialist woke.”
The two-time MLB All-Star continued, “A commenter said last night that we ‘auto corrected’ as a nation. The people, WE the people, went and handled up on the plague that was upon us.” He continued, “I’m so proud to be an American today. I look forward to watching Trump, Elon, RFK, and others clean up the swamp that is our government.”
“Remember that if you voted for the other side, you were rejected. HARD, and by a SUPER MAJORITY. That means your opinions and emotions weren’t of the people as a whole,” he added. “Maybe it’s time to go home and look into the mirror. Maybe you are listening to the wrong voices. Be open, heal, and don’t be emotional about it.”
Former NFL star Brett Favre also appeared with Trump at a recent rally in Wisconsin, endorsing the former president.“I can tell you one thing, I knew I would come back to Green Bay at various times, but I never thought I would come back in this setting,” he said. “There’s never been a more important time in our lives than right now in this election.” Favre added, “Much like the Packer organization, Donald Trump and his organization is a winner. The United States of America won with his leadership.”
