Former President Donald Trump recently responded to the Supreme Court’s oral arguments regarding the Colorado decision to remove him from the state’s ballot. The state of Colorado cited the “Insurrection Clause” of the Fourteenth Amendment as justification for omitting the leading GOP presidential candidate from the ballot.
The controversial decision has become a hotly debated political topic regarding whether individual states have the authority to decide whether a national presidential candidate can be disqualified from running on the grounds of the Fourteenth Amendment.
In his statement, Trump explained how the Supreme Court deliberations were a “beautiful process” representing the nature of democracy in the U.S. However, the former president asserted that Democrats and the radical left have “weaponized” the political process.
“In watching the Supreme Court today, I thought it was very, it’s a very beautiful process. I hope that democracy of this country will continue. Because right now we have a very, very tough situation with all of the radical left ideas with the weaponization of politics,” Trump said.
Continuing on the topic of political weaponization, Trump illustrates a purported collusion between the federal government and the American judicial infrastructure. The former president called it “totally illegal,” calling for the case to be dropped.
“They weaponized it like it’s never been weaponized before. It’s totally illegal, but they do it anyway. And it has to stop every one of the court cases and I’m involved every single one civil, whether it’s the Attorney General, also the district attorney Fani in Georgia. They had many meetings with the White House and with the DOJ. They want their eight-hour meetings. It was all staged. It was a phony hoax, and now you’re looking at it and it is a phony hoax, and hopefully that case will be dismissed in short order,” he continued.
Trump further claimed that everything he is describing is a product of the Biden White House, amounting to “election interference” in attempting to thwart Trump’s campaign. The former president noted that such interference prevents millions of Americans from exercising their intention to vote for Trump.
“It’s a disgrace that this country, but they work together with the Justice Department and the White House and not supposed to do that. Every one of these cases you see comes out of the White House it comes out of Biden it’s election interference, and it’s really very sad. I thought the presentation today was a very good one. I think it was well received. I hope it was well received. You have millions of people that are out there wanting to vote, and they happen to want to vote for me or the Republican Party, whatever you want to however you want to phrase it. But I’m the one running and we are leading in every poll. We’re leading in the local polls from the state polls, and we’re leading in the swing state polls. And we’re leading very big in the national poll. So it’s been a very great honor,” the leading Republican candidate said.
