“Insulting to My Wife”: Vance Defends His Wife, Melania Trump from Mark Cuban’s Insults

Speaking to Breitbart News Saturday on SiriusXM 125, the Patriot Channel, United States Senator from Ohio and 2024 Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance fired back at billionaire and committed leftist Mark Cuban over comments Cuban made about Republican women.

Cuban, as background, appeared on ABC’s “The View” and seemingly insulted all the women around Trump, such as Melania Trump and the wives of Trump’s political associates, such as Usha Vance. He said, “Donald Trump, you never see him around strong, intelligent women. Ever.”

He continued, “It’s just that simple. They’re intimidating to him. He doesn’t like to be challenged by them, and, you know, Nikki Haley will call him on his nonsense with reproductive rights and how he sees and treats and talks about women. I mean, he just can’t have her around. It wouldn’t work.”

Vance didn’t hold back in his comments to Breitbart about Cuban’s awful remarks on “The View.” Responding to them, he called out Cuban as having insulted a number of successful Republican women, including multiple Trump family members, such as Melania and Lara Trump.

Doing so, he said, “Well, first of all, it’s insulting my wife, who’s a very strong and very intelligent woman and goes to nearly every one of my campaign events with me. And it’s insulting to Lara Trump, who’s done an incredible job as co chair of the RNC. It’s insulting to Melania [Trump], who has the number one New York Times best selling book right now.”

Continuing, he noted that the very comments were an insult of people rather than anything having to do with public policy, saying, “It’s insulting to everybody who thinks that our politics should be about public policy that makes people’s lives better instead of attacking your fellow citizens.”

He further noted that, at this point, the left’s attacks are just denigrating and condescending, saying, “Whether it’s Mark Cuban or Kamala Harris or Joe Biden, why are these people so preoccupied with denigrating and insulting and condescending their fellow citizens?”

Then, Vance noted that those infuriated by this administration’s policies have every right to be, saying, “If you are pissed off that Kamala Harris opened the border, you have every right. If you’re frustrated that Kamala Harris’s policies have made it impossible for you to afford the price of a home, you have every right.”

Cuban, trying to “clarify” his insulting remarks in a post on X, said, “I’m happy to clarify that 1. I know many strong, intelligent women voting for Trump. Including in my extended family. I’m certainly not saying female voters are not smart , strong and intelligent. 2. I know he has worked with strong intelligent women, like Elaine Chao, Kelly Anne, Ivanka and many others. I stand by my opinion that he does not like being challenged publicly.”

Responding, country music star and conservative John Rich toasted Cuban, telling him, “From henceforth, you will always be known for this. In the future, when anyone mentions your name, this statement is what they will remember.” Similarly, Julie Kelly said, “So you said something weak and unintelligent—noted.”
