State Rep. Steve Toth defeated four-term incumbent Rep. Dan Crenshaw, the only Texas Republican without Trump’s backing, with just under 57%, avoiding a runoff. Crenshaw, once polling at +28 and favored by 68% of bettors, saw markets swing to 99% for Toth within hours.
MAGA critics branded him anti-Trump and “Liz Cheney wing.” Toth, who was endorsed by the president twice, framed the race as a purge of RINOs. Crenshaw conceded it was “an honor to serve,” but later blamed “a culture of misinformation,” saying “The truth didn’t matter.”
Reacting to the huge upset, Toth made a victory post on social media where he thanked the voters of the Lone Star state, saying, “Big thanks to the voters of Congressional District 2. I will work hard for all of you.”
Likewise, Sen. Ted Cruz said, “Steve faithfully served the people of Texas in the Texas House of Representatives, championing our Texas values of liberty, limited government, and constitutional governance. Steve is an unwavering fighter for school choice, fiscal responsibility, and the next generation of Americans.”
“Washington needs bold leadership and representatives who will stand up for Texans at every turn. Steve has the experience, the courage, and the conviction to do just that. I’m honored to support his campaign and urge voters in Texas’s 2nd Congressional District to join me in electing Steve Toth to Congress,” he added.
Similarly, Mark Ivanyo reacted, “@SteveTothTX has stepped up to the plate to challenge one of Congress’s biggest RINOs, Dan Crenshaw. Crenshaw has stood against MAGA consistently and held out as a stalwart of the Liz Cheney wing of the GOP that has done so much damage to our country.”
As we reported at the American Tribune, Crenshaw made enemies because of his aggressive stock trading and RINO policies. In an interview with the Free Press, he raved, “How much f**king money have I ever had in the stock market? About $20,000 and I’ve been dragged through the mud on this as if, like, there’s some insider trading. So sure, yeah, why not? Don’t let us trade stocks.”

“About, how about, how about just, we’ll just keep whipping ourselves. How about we don’t make any money either? What are you talking about? That’s like saying it pays if you don’t allow the police to shake down speeders at gunpoint, you’re gonna get a worse kind of cop,” Crenshaw said to conclude his screed.
Adding more context, a guest on the Tucker Carlson show stated, “The one that in particular, that really frustrated me about him was meta, which he’s crushing it up like 200% he bought the dip perfectly.” “He buys the stock. A couple of months later, he starts pushing and publicly saying, “Hey, everyone, we should ban TikTok.” You know, he then goes off and votes against the bill to ban Tiktok,” the same source explained.
Wrapping up the guest noted, “So now you got a politician that is buying TikTok’s main competitor, Meta, you’re then publicly talking about how you want to ban it from government officials’ phones to then voting on the bill to ban TikTok, all while the stock has gone up 200%.”
