“I’m Talking Now…Does That Sound Familiar?”: Trump Hilariously Roasts Kamala Using Her Own Line Against Her [WATCH]

In what might have been the funniest moment from the 2024 Presidential debate hosted by ABC News that occurred on the night of Tuesday, September 10, former President Donald Trump hilariously roasted Vice President Kamala Harris by using her own line from 2020 against her, leading to much hilarity online.

Former President Donald Trump’s comment on the matter came when he commented on Vice President Harris’ support for the Minnesota Freedom Fund, a bail fund, during the 2020 riots. As background, in June of 2020, as the riots in Minneapolis took place, then-California Sen. Kamala Harris tweeted, “If you’re able to, chip in now to the @MNFreedomFund to help post bail for those protesting on the ground in Minnesota.”

Trump brought it up, noting that she drew attention to the fund during the debate, leading to Vice President Harris trying to interrupt him. Reacting quite funnily, former President Trump didn’t try to talk over her. Instead, he used her own line against her, saying, “Wait a minute. I’m talking now, if you don’t mind, please. Does that sound familiar?”

That is a reference to when, during her debate with former Vice President Mike Pence during the 2020 debate, then-Senator and Biden running mate Kamala Harris kept trying to talk over Mike Pence as he made a point, saying, repeatedly, “I’m talking.” It was, at the time, a line that leftists loved and the right found grating.

In any case, this wasn’t the first time that Trump brought up the Minnesota Freedom Fund. Speaking about it at a recent rally in Charlotte, North Carolina, he said, “One of the dangerous criminals Kamala helped bail out of jail was Shawn Michael Tillman. You know that name.” For reference, Kamala did not donate to the bail fund, but did promote it, as mentioned above.

Continuing, Trump said, commenting on what Tillman the criminal did that made the incident and support for the fund notable, “A repeat offender who, with Harris’s help, was set free. He then went on to murder a man on a train platform in St. Paul, Minnesota, shooting him in cold blood six times, lying on the ground.”

One account on X (formerly Twitter), commenting on the wild interaction, said, “I left my seat when Trump said this.😂 Not only did Kamala get dragged on policy, and have both moderators debating Trump for her… Trump stole Kamala’s big moment. ‘I’m talking now… if you don’t mind, please. Sound familiar?’ Trump got the viral video of the debate.”

Replying to Clandestine, the account that posted the above tweet, commenters said things like “I laughed hard at this. The look in here eyes was priceless, ‘that was supposed to be my line,'” “‘Excuse me, Excuse me I’m talking now.’ I lost it, I absolutely lost it when he said this. Lost my bladder too!,” and “She slammed on the brakes so hard after he snagged her line.”
