“I’m going to be your worst fricking nightmare”: Kari Lake Rips Reporters

Ripping into reporters with a vengeance on Tuesday during midterm voting, Arizona Republican Kari Lake sent an ominous message the way of the media, saying that she would be their “worst freaking nightmare for eight years.”

    Speaking on that, Kari said:

Are you new covering this race? Because we have talked about this before. I’ve answered this question. I’m going to not only be the governor of Arizona for four years, I’m going to do two terms.

I’m going to be your worst freaking nightmare for eight years, and we will reform the media as well. We are going to make you guys into journalists again, so get ready. It’s gonna be a fun eight years.

    Watch that here:

Mediaite, adding more details on what was going on in the clip and what Kari was saying to the media, reported:

At a press conference in Phoenix on Tuesday, Lake told reporters assembled they were part of the “fake news” media while saying she was “embarrassed” by voting machine issues reported out of Maricopa County. Lake, former President Donald Trump, and other conservatives have jumped on those technical issues to suggest problems with the vote in Arizona and elsewhere.

At the end of the presser, Lake said she would be “thrilled” if Trump announces a new run for president, which he is expected to do a week from now. A CBS reporter brought up speculation that Trump may name Lake as a running mate, and asked if she would commit to being the governor of Arizona for the entirety of her term if she wins.

The Hill added some extra context as well, saying:

Lake, a former news anchor, has made attacking the mainstream media a staple of her messaging as she runs for Arizona’s top executive office.

Trump has also made attacking the media a hallmark of his time as a politician, often calling outlets like CNN “fake news” or labeling the larger industry the “lamestream media.”

On Tuesday, she shared on Twitter a campaign ad showing her taking a sledge hammer to a bank of televisions playing the news and and vowing to hold “corporate media” accountable for what she says is “fearmongering.”

This isn’t the first time that Lake has ripped reporters recently. She did so as well when berating them for believing and spreading the slanderous accusations of Katie Hobbs that she was involved with the break-in of the Hobbs campaign headquarters, saying:

Welcome, we’re happy you’re here. We know the world is watching us… We had an amazing event last night, an evening with first responders and law enforcement. Men and women who put their lives on the line every single day… and while this was happening, my desperate opponent (who is sinking like a lead weight in water) pulled a stunt, and you guys fell for it.

She put out a defamatory statement and you all ran with it. You didn’t do your journalistic duty. it was a malpractice of journalism like I’ve never seen before. It was an effort, I believe, to influence this election. Many of you are an arm of the Democrat Party Many of you are propagandists. And almost all of you should be ashamed.

Yesterday, my Democrat opponent put out a statement while I was meeting with police officers and firefighters, working to make sure that our state is safe, she’s pulling stunts and you guys are falling hook, line, and sinker for them. She put out a statement about a petty theft that took place at her office. She knew darn well I had nothing to do with it, so she puts a statement out, and right away, your gatekeepers over at the Arizona Democratic Party jumped on it and put a statement out, which was the cue to you to go ahead and start running with it.

NBC News, an arm of the Democrat Party, was the first to start reporting on it. And then we get this from Newsy, whatever that is, “Gubernatorial candidate’s campaign headquarter broken into.”

You guys spread this like wildfire. And then The Guardian, overseas, “Campaign HQ Broken Into,” Watergate, oh my goodness.
