America is perhaps more divided now than at any time since the 1960s, and many fear the worst is yet to come. Despite promising to restore normalcy and unity, Joe Biden is accused of dividing the country even further, to the point that even some Democrats are turning on him. Some have suggested a “national divorce,” and there are groups actively working behind the scenes in Texas and California with an eye toward secession.
Many with the means have already left blue states like California, Washington, and New York for the relative normalcy of red states like Tennessee, Florida, and Nevada. Most claim to be seeking a haven from increased crime and big government policies, while others are fearing the worst and feel that a red state would be safest if everything went sideways.
Meta head Mark Zuckerberg has a reportedly massive bunker planned on a remote Hawaiian island. He joins Beyonce, Jay Z, Tom Brady, Jared Kushner, Ivanka Trump, and Jeff Bezos as owning complex houses with Plan B sites. Theirs are on a private, man-made island near Miami.
Recently, in an interview with Ronan Farrow, another, and perhaps surprising celebrity shared his plans for safety should stuff go south. Drag Queen RuPaul Andre Charles and his husband Georges LeBar are planning a “fortified compound” on the sixty-thousand-acre ranch owned by LeBar in the red state of Wyoming.
RuPaul plans to be ready if and when stuff breaks out. He said: “I’m fearing the absolute worst. We are moments away from fucking civil war. All the signs are there. Humans on this planet are in the cycle of destruction. I am plotting a safety net.” He stopped short of calling it a bunker, but the implications are clear. RuPaul continued: “I wouldn’t call it a bunker. But it is designed to withstand calamity. It’s a lot of concrete and a lot of things. I keep thinking about these castles that I’m going to bed to.”
RuPaul may play a drag queen, but he holds some surprising social viewpoints. He said: “So much of our culture today, with young people, is centered around their feelings. Feelings are indicators, they’re not facts.” He continued, “Parents teaching their kids about safe spaces, and ‘I feel uncomfortable’ . . . It’s, like, You know what? The world is not a safe space. You have to find the comfort. It’s mostly uncomfortable.”
RuPaul has run afoul of the woke mob in recent years for suggesting transgendered individuals shouldn’t be featured on his show and for reports that his husband LeBar, allows fracking on his ranch. When asked about the latter, he hilariously replied: “Do you buy gas? Before you point the finger, smell it first, b*tch.” He also added, “There’s no combination of words I can put together that would soothe the mob.”
If and when President Trump returns to the White House, things could get dicey. However, conservatives tend to have the survival skills necessary to weather a storm. The left, on the other hand, may have to resort to knocking on RuPaul’s concrete door, and they may not be welcome.
