In a highly controversial address, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker appeared to threaten Donald Trump. When a clip of the incident was posted to social media, conservatives were incensed by Pritzker’s wild rhetoric and potential treason and slammed his shameful attack on the president.
For context, Democratic leaders have a long history of calling for violence against President Trump. While these remarks are nothing new, after the two failed assassination attempts against the president, many have wondered if these remarks are promoting violence.
In any case, the Illinois governor made his remarks on April 27, 2025, where he complained about the conservatives. Starting his rant, the woke Democrat said, “Never before in my life have I called for mass protests, for mobilization, for disruption, but I am now. You [know], these Republicans cannot know a moment of peace.”
Continuing his vile rhetoric, Pritzker explained how he wants to accomplish his goal. He added, “They have to understand that we will fight their cruelty with every megaphone and microphone we have. We must castigate them on the soap box and then punish them at the ballot box.”
In the initial post, Edward Issac-Dovere, a CNN reporter, described the event as, “Pritzker calls for mass protests and disruption – “Republicans cannot know a moment of peace,” he says, swaying their portraits will one day be put in museums “reserved for tyrants and traitors.'”
Underneath his post, conservatives pounced on the woke Illinois Democrat for his call to violence. One such comment said, “As D leaders do: rhetoric right up to the line, hoping someone steps over it into stochastic terrorism, kicking off violent riots. We saw it often in Trump’s first term; let’s not this time.” Building on this point, another user added, “Governor Pritzker just kicked off his 2028 presidential campaign by threatening the sitting president and the opposition party with violence. Gonna be a wild ride.”
Reacting to the apparent call for violence, many users tried to bring his remarks to the attention of law enforcement. One reply in this vein read, “@FBIDirectorKash @FBIDDBongino this is a direct call to violence against @POTUS Time to make an example out of the treasonous scum.” Agreeing, another said, “How about DOJ @PamBondi @FBIDirectorKash put out some info regarding all the NGO’s @GovPritzker is connected to, as I predict is 90 %+ shady, low down & dirty. Why would he have so many of them?”

Objecting to the use of the word “traitor,” one commenter wrote, “Yes, we have a long and proud history of traitors in this nation. Names like Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Hamilton, and Paine come to mind. We are 14 months from the anniversary of a group of traitors pledging their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to create a society where anything is possible for those who apply themselves, even misguided idiots like Pritzker.”

Rounding out the comments, social media users slammed the democrats for engaging in this violent speech. One use stated, “If our media is too stupid to call this out and Republicans too lazy to fight back, kiss your freedoms goodbye. This rhetoric cannot be tolerated.” Another comment read, “They all know that they’re going to prison and are using people to defend them for their own crimes and corruption. I don’t know how people have become so stupid.”
