Things are not looking great for Rep. Ilhan Omar, who is facing demands for answers as her finances remain under the microscope in the wake of repeatedly changed financial disclosures regarding her personal wealth and that of her husband. In fact, state Republican lawmakers are investigating her for her connections to the sprawling “Feeding Our Future” fraud. Ilhan Omar skipped the hearing on her finances, leading to a deadline being set for her to provide documents.

The Minnesota lawmaker doing the investigating is State Rep. Kristin Robbins, who is the chair of the House Fraud Prevention and State Agency Oversight Committee. Robbins, reports revealed, sent a formal letter to Rep. Omar on April 22 in which she criticized Omar for not appearing at the hearing and requesting a great deal of documents regarding the “Feeding Our Future” program and scandal.

In the letter to Rep. Omar, Fox News Digital reported, Robbins said, “Minnesotans and the Members of the House Fraud Prevention & State Oversight Committee were disappointed that you failed to appear before our committee to answer questions.”

Adding to that, the letter demanded a slew of answers regarding the scandal and Omar’s connections to it. “Your former staff member, Guhaad Hashi Said, pled guilty in the Feeding Our Future fraud scandal. Please also provide any and all written and/or electronic communications, including but not limited to any emails, online meetings, agendas, texts, logs of meetings, or calls you had with him and as well as anyone listed in the previous questions.” The letter added, “Please also provide the same for any communication or meetings with anyone associated with Advance Youth Athletic Development.”

Further, the letter demanded, “Who produced the video you made for Somali TV? Please also provide any and all written and/or electronic communications, including but not limited to any emails, online meetings, agendas, texts, logs of meetings, or calls you had with this company, and anyone associated with it.”

Adding to that, it asked, “Xogmaal Media produced a video in the spring of 2021 documenting a political rally to support Safari Restaurant and the Feeding our Future sponsor program in their legal fight against the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE). Please also provide any and all written and/or electronic communications, including but not limited to any emails, online meetings, agendas, texts, logs of meetings, or calls you had with Mohamed Noor, and anyone associated with Xogmaal Media.”

It also asked, “How did you communicate the new opportunities created for broader participation in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and the Summer Food Service Program (SFP) to the Minnesota Department of Education and your constituents? Please provide any and all written and/or electronic communications, including but not limited to, emails, online meetings, agendas, texts, and any logs of meetings or calls you had with them.”

Similarly, “You appeared in a Somali TV video in which you touted the MEALS Act and highlighted Safari Restaurant as a place where meals were available. Please provide all communication, including but not limited to, emails, texts, phone calls, and online meetings you had with the owners and staff of Safari Restaurant regarding how to apply for the program, becoming a site under the sponsorship of Feeding our Future, and the planning and production of the video.”

Commenting to Fox News Digital on the scandal, Robbins said, “She didn’t even respond, ghosted us. And her Meals Act is what created the conditions that allowed Feeding Our Future to happen.” Robbins added that Ilhan has not been in communication with the committee.
