Amongst those Democrats who have most infuriated the American right in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s assassination, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) probably tops the list, given her utterly callous comments and sneering demeanor. As a result, most of the GOP Congressional Caucus tried to remove her from her committee assignments, a minor move that was torpedoed by RINOs.
Leading the charge in the effort to punish Rep. Omar from her committee assignments was Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC), and it was she who led the charge in attacking not just Rep. Omar but also the Republicans who helped her in the wake of the September 17 failure to remove her from her assignments.
Doing so in a powerful September 17 press release, Rep. Mace noted that the motion had almost succeeded in stripping Omar of her assignments and formally censuring her for what she said about Mr. Kirk’s cold-blooded assassination, but it was torpedoed by four RINOs who worked with the Democrats instead of their own party.
Beginning, her office said, “Tonight, the U.S. House of Representatives voted 214–213 to table Congresswoman Nancy Mace’s resolution to censure Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and strip her of all committee assignments following her indefensible comments mocking the cold-blooded assassination of Charlie Kirk.”
Continuing, the statement called out the four RINOs who decided to work with the Democrats to stop the motion from passing, angrily writing, “210 Democrats and 4 Republicans (Mike Flood, Jeff Hurd, Tom McClintock, and Cory Mills) rushed to shield Omar from justice following her own actions.”
For reference, the resolution they refused to support would have “Formally censured Rep. Ilhan Omar before the full House of Representatives”, “required her to stand in the well of the House chamber as the censure is read aloud”, and “stripped her of committee assignments on the House Education and Workforce Committee and the House Budget Committee.”
Yet worse, they did so despite the fact that Rep. Omar, as the statement called out, said horrific things about Kirk. The statement provided, “Just days after Kirk’s murder, Omar appeared on the Breaking Points podcast where she: Claimed those saying ‘Charlie Kirk just wanted to have a civil debate’ are ‘full of s—’.”

Continuing and listing more bad things Omar said on that podcast, the statement provided that Omar, “Said there is ‘nothing more f—ed up than to pretend his words and actions have not been recorded’ over the past decade, Dismissed the grief of millions as ‘complete rewriting of history’, Omar also reposted a video calling Charlie Kirk a ‘stochastic terrorist’ and a ‘reprehensible human being,’ doubling down on her attacks while his family was still planning his memorial.”
Commenting generally on the situation in a statement of her own that was included in the press release, Rep. Mace said, “Tonight, 210 Democrats and 4 Republicans sold out and chose to protect Ilhan Omar, a woman who mocked the cold-blooded assassination of an innocent American husband and father, who has openly supported ISIS and the Muslim Brotherhood, and who has repeatedly incited political violence.”
Continuing, Rep. Mace emphasized just how awful of a betrayal that was, saying, “They didn’t stand with Charlie Kirk. They didn’t stand with the millions of Americans mourning his death. They stood with the one who mocked his legacy. They showed us exactly who they are, and we won’t forget.”
