President Donald Trump’s efforts to bring illegal immigration under control and to deport those who crossed the border without legal permission and have upset the balance of our nation, hit a couple of big businesses in South Carolina, a red state, resulting in the indictment of six individuals total, with two being managers in the businesses.
The raid, and the investigations that were part o fit, were known as “Ghost Story.” South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced that a South Carolina State Grand Jury issued the indictments, which concern several charges of illegal immigration and identity theft, following the conclusion of a multi-jurisdictional law enforcement operation that was conducted on June 3, 2026.
The operation was carried out at Burnstein Von Seelen Precision Casting, located on 608 Carwellyn Road in Abbeville, South Carolina. The raid resulted in two managers being taken into custody by law enforcement officials, along with the detention of 48 workers by Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers for various immigration violations.
According to a report from WSPA, the indictments say that Christopher Douglas Ramey and Sandy Lynn Willis, both managers at the Abbeville company, reportedly violated their obligations by failing to verify employee IDs and by facilitating the use of forged identification documents submitted by illegal immigrants looking to gain employment with the business.
“This investigation is not about targeting hard-working people who are just trying to put food on the table, but we cannot ignore identity theft,” Creighton Waters, Chief Attorney, State Grand Jury Section went on to say at the press conference. “We cannot ignore violations of the law.” The indictments came about as the result of an investigation into how illegal aliens in South Carolina can obtain fake U.S. and state identification from “document vendors.”
The investigation also took a deep dive into allegations that a business in South Carolina knowingly facilitated the use of fraudulent identification by its employed illegal immigrants. “I want to make it clear we are not targeting communities because of what you look like or where you work,” Attorney General Alan Wilson explained. “We are targeting specific conduct. We are following the facts of that conduct, and if it leads us to a crime, we are going to prosecute it.”
“There was a real problem with the fact that just with a few hundred dollars, people could get fake licenses, fake Social Security cards, LPR’s and other identification documents in many instances of real Americans, whose identities were being stolen,” Waters said. Both Ramey and WIllis with charged with criminal conspiracy, identity fraud to obtain employment and forgery.

The rest of the individuals who were taken into custody were allegedly document vendors who obtained fake state driver’s licenses, social security cards, and other false forms of identification. Folks on social media platform X, where a clip about the raid is going viral, were excited to see something finally being done about the problem.
“Now do the same for companies that utilize DEI to systemically/systematically discriminate against White males applicants and current employees. Employment discrimination is illegal at the federal level, and in all 50 states. It’s time to start enforcing the law,” one user wrote. “Arrest the OWNERS. The OWNERS probably instructed them to do this and are now hiding behind their employees that were stupid enough to listen to them.,” someone else said.
