“Hypocritical Crap”: Bruce Springsteen’s Hometown Paper Shreds Him to Pieces Over His Anti-Trump Stunts

Rock and roll legend and anti-Trump leftist Bruce Springsteen got ripped to shreds by Bobby Olivier, a food and culture editor and music reporter for NJ Advance Media, who referred to Springsteen’s recent Prudential Center concert in Newark as “all hypocritical crap,” and accusing the musician of “profiteering over legitimate protest.”

“Springsteen’s artistic identity, as a bleeding-heart populist who sings for the destitute and downtrodden, has never been more disconnected from his economic behavior as a touring act or businessman. The blue-collar troubadour now charges exorbitant amounts for his tickets — up to $2,900 retail for the best seats in Newark Monday; prices he agreed to despite fan backlash,” Olivier went on to write in his article published on NJ.com.

“He’s selling ‘No Kings’ branded flags for $90 in the arena concourse,” Olivier said of the New Jersey rocker. “And last week, his merchandise distributor got an injunction passed to ban bootleg T-shirt sales outside the venue, even as crews of independent sellers — fine examples of working-class people he’s romanticized for 50 years — hawk merch at nearly every other Prudential Center show without issue.”

According to a report from Breitbart News, Springsteen transformed his live shows from a celebration of music for the common man into anti-Trump demonstrations when he announced and began performing shows on his “Land of Hope and Dreams American Tour.” Much of his time on stage is spent tearing into President Donald Trump rather than focusing on music.

He’s played shows on this tour in Minneapolis, Los Angeles, and Newark, New Jersey to name a few. Fans who have managed to purchase the high-priced concert tickets for Springsteen’s tour have been treated to anti-Trump screeds and tirades at every show. The America I’ve wrote about for 50 years, that has been a beacon of hope and liberty around the world, is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent, racist, reckless and treasonous administration,” Springsteen said on stage.

However, the new act is beginning to wear thin with his listeners. “The unrecognizable reality of the 2026 Springsteen experience, coupled with this tour’s political framing — an exploitation of American division and outrage in a manner no better than any cable news pundit — is a damning contradiction, a lapse in logic,” Olivier continued in his piece.

“It threatens to tarnish the final act of Bruce’s career and is no small tragedy for New Jersey’s greatest rock star,” he added. President Trump is well aware of the hatred Springsteen has been spewing in his direction. Calling for his supporters to boycott the tour, Trump referred to the New Jersey rock star as a “dried up prune who has suffered greatly from the work of a really bad plastic surgeon.”

“The guy is a total loser who spews hate against a President who won a Landslide Election, including the popular vote, all Seven Swing States, and 86% of the Counties across America,” Trump wrote on social media concerning Springsteen. “MAGA SHOULD BOYCOTT HIS OVERPRICED CONCERTS, WHICH SUCK. SAVE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY,” he went on to write.
